INCREDIBLE!! Today I attended my first Hapkido class with Grandmaster Chuck Beyersdoerfer in West Chester Ohio. I inquired into this training because I wanted to be prepared when someone assaults me or my family or gets a little too close attempting to rob us or worse. Our society is out of control with people doing whatever they want wherever they want, with very little police protection, slow reaction times which is too late and legal protection favoring criminals who are getting out of charges with overcrowding jails and technical red tape. This class led by Grandmaster Beyersdoerfer really opened my eyes and my physical awareness of the muscle memory practice needed to be ready to disable an attacker. Most people freeze up or go into a bit of confusion or in semi shock when assaulted, and then it’s too late. Within this training I have learned from just this first visit that anyone, young or old, can learn to defend themselves with the well taught and simple series of readiness exercises and movements. I challenge every man, father and husband and every woman, mother, and wife, to try this class out, and bring your spouse or significant other, it only takes the one visit to realize how ill prepared we are as individuals and as a family and community. I can’t wait for this Monday’s next class! I highly recommend self defense training and physical conditioning and give a 5 star review for this professional and family-friendly organization!
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming from the moment you enter the building. The pricing is very reasonable too. I learned from Master Beyersdoerfer over 15 years ago. His passion and talent for teaching martial arts has remained strong and consistent even after all these years. He explains the why as well as the how. You will truly learn martial arts, the Korean language, how to defend yourself and much more!
I call Master B. my instructor for 8 years now. He eats, sleeps, and breathes martial arts and his knowledge is vast. He commands respect in the old taekwondo way, but more importantly, his students are as loyal as a puppy dog. He is not a belt factory. You do not get the rank simply because you showed up to class the prerequisite number of times. You must earn it and you will work hard for it. But if you respect discipline and a serious learning environment, then look no further. First and foremost you will learn self defense. You will be confident in your abilities, whatever level they are. So if you want to learn TKD and the other techniques which complement it so well, this is the school and he is the right instructor. I highly suggest you pay a visit to watch and learn. Bring your questions and an open mind. Master Tom Myers
