I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others.
My name is Michael, and my dog Chocka is 14 years old. I’ve been taking her to this clinic since she was a puppy.
About a month and a half ago, I brought Chocka in due to pain and infection symptoms. They drew blood, tested her for heartworm (negative), and prescribed antibiotics and pain medication. The antibiotics helped significantly—she was acting much better and clearly more comfortable. Because she still had medication and was improving, I pushed the follow-up appointment back about a month.
About two weeks after the antibiotics ran out, her symptoms returned. I called simply to request a refill of the antibiotics that had already proven effective. I was told—incorrectly—that “by law” I had to bring her in because it had been over two weeks since the last visit. That is not Ohio law.
When I did bring her in, the tone completely changed. A different staff member began pulling on heartstrings, saying “money is no object,” ordered more bloodwork, and immediately began pushing a $1,000 dental surgery—on top of the $500 I had already spent in the last month—despite Chocka’s age and the obvious surgical risk. This is a 14-year-old dog with declining health.
They then refused to refill the antibiotics, despite my repeated explanations that they had helped her significantly. I was given nowhere near enough pain medication to last until the proposed surgery date of January 5th. This is especially frustrating considering I had to argue just to get an appointment before Christmas, was told to come in due to a cancellation, and was still charged as if it were an emergency visit.
Instead of treating the infection that was actively causing her pain, the vet refused and then offered personal advice, telling me that if she were me, she would go through with the surgery so the dog “wouldn’t suffer.” Only then did they reveal that bloodwork indicated stage 3 kidney disease—something that makes major surgery even riskier.
The result? My dog has spent the last week miserable, out of it, and suffering—not because treatment wasn’t available, but because they refused to continue antibiotics that were clearly helping, while pushing expensive procedures instead.
Chocka is now so weak that there’s no way she would survive the surgery they pushed. When I take her to a different vet on Tuesday, I will likely be forced to put her down—something that may have been avoided or at least made more comfortable if her pain and infection had been properly managed.
This clinic felt far more focused on milking every possible dollar than on relieving an elderly animal’s suffering. I have never experienced such a lack of compassion, flexibility, or common sense in veterinary care.
I am heartbroken, angry, and deeply disappointed. I cannot recommend this clinic to anyone who truly cares about their pet’s comfort and dignity in their final years.

Me and my wife came here to put our beloved 13 year old dog down. The desk staff and vets were amazing. They were very thoughtful and compassionate through the whole thing. When going to receive the ashes I was given a wonderful wooden box with her ashes, pictures of her nose/paws and clippings of her hair. I didn’t want the hair at the time of putting her down but regretted it after the procedure. The fact that they went above and beyond just helps the healing process. So thank you for the kindness you all showed. It made a difference.

The Dr and Staff are very compassionate. We had to put a long time companion and an 18 year member of our family to sleep today. They helped my daughter and I every step of the way. Rest in peace Pumpkin.

My girlfriend called in to ask about getting our dog updated on her general health vaccines so she could stay at Pet Palace while we went on vacation. We were planning on making our dog a patient here but the woman who picked up the call was super rude about it saying there was no way they could do that by the time we left (4 days in advance). I would understand a simple “no sorry that’s too soon” but she was out her way to be super rude about a simple question and then hung up. Will not be taking our dog here in the future.
