West Park Family Physicians: Hiltner Virginia

I have been with this practice for my entire life but with recent changes, it is not what it used to be. I have been sick for over 3 weeks and have tried to make an appointment 3 times and all attempts were frustrating because the call center that does their scheduling is a joke and is not even on site anymore. I should mention I’ve done physician scheduling for many years and could never imagine running schedules like they do. I was told the first appointment with my doctor wouldn’t be until December 20th. Which was confusing to me and lead me to believe that they didn’t know how to keep a proper reserve of same day sick appointments. (I have had issues with scheduling a lot Over the last year) I was finally scheduled to see a CNP at 8:45 which was fine but when my appointment time came, I waited for over an hour to see her. When the hour marker came and went and my blood boiled, I asked to speak with an office manager. She was nice, sympathetic but didn’t really assure me the issue was going to be addressed and still, I was not going to see my doctor any sooner than December 20th. I met with the nurse practitioner who didn’t really take the time to understand my history and at the end of this was a little rude. I left in tears. This was so frustrating and I still feel like no one really cared. A year ago this would not have been the case but things have changed. I am going to be leaving this practice I have been to since I was born and that’s with a heavy heart.

My 11 month old has his first appointment at this office with Dr. Riker. He and the rest of the staff were so friendly and welcoming that I'm glad I found this place!

Dr Bruce Hillard is a great doctor. He is compassionate and is generous with time needed.
