“I used D & D 20 years ago to re-do a kitchen. Their work was excellent, perfectly coordinated and executed, and flawless. So I thought nothing of calling them again to have them repaint our existing kitchen cabinets, replace the cabinet doors all around, install some new cabinetry, put up a backsplash, install new countertops and sink, and replace some lights. In the end, everything looks good - Keith's work with the painting and backsplash was excellent - but there were several problems along the way. First, several of the door handles had to be reinstalled bc they were crooked when installed (not by Keith). Second, they tore out the old sink BEFORE the new one arrived; thus we had no kitchen sink for three days. Poor coordination. Third, for weeks on end they kept telling us that they were going to get to replacing the lighting. They never did, so we ended up calling an electrical contractor (Cousino); they sent someone out THAT DAY and handled the install in 20 minutes. Finally, without bringing it to our attention (we had to point it out to them), they (again, not Keith) damaged a windowsill when moving the refrigerator and scratched the floor when moving some cabinetry. When called on it, they both repaired the windowsill and paid for a flooring firm (Harrison) to make the floor repair. Again, the kitchen looks good, but it required too much handholding and oversight on our part, and the whole project took far longer to complete than we were told it would take. Things may have turned out far differently if we worked outside the house or if they had they been asked to do the work before we moved in or while were were on vacation and weren't able to supervise. This knocks things down to four stars.“
