About ProMedica Urgent Care - Perrysburg
ProMedica Urgent Care offers efficient online appointment scheduling and a quick process, often taking under an hour. The staff, including medical assistants and nurse practitioners, are kind, professional, and great with kids. However, some patients have experienced inconsistent care, with one instance of a doctor being confused and unable to provide a diagnosis. The nurse practitioners are personable and thorough, but there have been instances where the prescribed treatment was not fully effective. One patient's son was diagnosed with pneumonia, but the initial antibiotic prescription did not adequately address the condition, leading to a worsened state that required a return visit and a stronger antibiotic regimen. Despite these occasional challenges, ProMedica Urgent Care generally provides efficient and helpful care. Patients have praised the staff, such as the medical assistant Madison, for their patience and attentiveness, as well as the physician assistant Eric for his direct yet caring approach.
We came right from a softball game after my daughter hurt her wrist. We had first stopped at another urgent care that was closer and they decided to close 20 minutes early and said they couldn't help us. So we headed over to ProMedica urgent care and got in immediately. I felt bad we arrived so close to closing time, but they said it wasn't a problem and all seemed happy to take care of my daughter. I am thankful for this urgent care and I also like the fact that you can schedule appointments there now as well. That is very convenient when you have more time to work with than we did.
While the clinical issue was technically resolved, the overall experience has been deeply concerning. I personally felt the practitioner was a bit cold and displayed a lack of empathy during the visit. Also, upon reading the after-visit summary, it showed a distinct lack of active listening. I found that my situation was completely misrepresented in the official medical notes. It is incredibly frustrating to have your words altered in permanent records without the true context. Technical competence is important, but accurate documentation and basic professional empathy are equally vital. After all, we are paying a substantial premium for the services.
