Scheduled to take a 3 yr old for first dentist visit. Twice they cancelled appts, the seond time without telling me. I decided to call the morning of the appt since I had not gotten any kind of a reminder message and was told the appt had been canceled. The day of the actual appt the woman at the desk was friendly. However, when the girl came to take my granddaughter back to her appt, she didn't introduce herself, didn't say anything at all to the child to make her feel comfortable or welcome. She apparently was not the dentist and left to get the dentist and when he came in he had the same rapport. No communication to the child at all, barely spoke to me and did absolutely nothing to introduce the child to dentistry or put her at ease in any way. Zero friendliness. Terrible experience for a first office visit. This is definitely not a place to take children. Was trying to find a local dentist that would accept her insurance. Will gladly drive further or pay out pf pocket rather than return to this office.

Love my dentist best one I ever had!! Dr. Patrick Walsh is amazing at numbing me up for repairs and I have not had any issues with my fillings over last few years!!

Please read reviews before committing to this place. Was looking for a new primary Dr. Being new in the area, they were quick to get me in. (same day) if wanted. I explained my need for my RX refilled for my blood pressure and cholesterol. My insurance has zero copay for preventive services. Come to find out at this place they charge a 20 New Patient fee. That's a first. Then was sent out to get blood work and EKG at different places. Came back a month later to review labs, and was charged again 20 for copay, cause the Dr discussed my blood work and family history? They too billed insurance for this as well. To top that, I was told my new RX would be sent to my provider. Come to find out, they didn't send it to them,so 2 months later when I went to get refills, they now say I need to come back and have it all redone? My scripts have always been good for 1 year. Guess not here. Very Very disappointed with this place. Back to looking for a new Dr. Sounds like they are taking ques from the Banking industry, charging fee's.

Staff typically lacks introspection necessary when working with disabled individuals. They have displayed little understanding of ethical interpersonal navigation. Better at reading social cues than me, though.

The staff was not friendly at all (aside from 1/2 employees at the desk). Dr barely put hands on my wife and I and didn’t perform any preventative care. Maybe said 5 sentences to me the whole visit. Took some X-rays at the beginning. 2/3 of them didn’t fall under preventative care and so we had to pay a $99 deductible for each of us.
We were never asked if we had recent X-rays from our previous dentist (we did).
We were made to believe that the first visit would be fully covered under our insurance. As it was supposed to be preventative. Financial person wouldn’t get back to me. I had to keep calling. When I got ahold of her she said they didn’t know we’d be charged until after the visit. Lady on the phone said to someone that my insurance never covers anything when transferring me.
No one at this place seemed to care. Sounds like this happens a lot.
So we payed $200 with insurance for literally nothing. No cleaning, and less than 10 minutes of the dentists time.
If you’re going to go here. Ask every step of the way which services are preventative and which ones are to milk your insurance.
Told them we wouldn’t come back. They said “okay”.
$200 is still a small price to pay to identify problematic patient care.

Don't go there, taxpayers pay for a nice facility but they put hack dentist in there.

Called for an appointment and gave them my insurance information and was told I was set. Show up for my appointment and suddenly my insurance isn't accepted by them. They tell me the insurance companys list is wrong. They ask me if I am in pain. I confirm that yes, I am actively in pain. Can I pay out of pocket for care? "No you can't because you have insurance."

Do not waste your time here. Maybe the doctors are fine but the staff and billing will give you the run around and cost you your time and then tell you it's your fault.
Their statement is: "Lorain County Health & Dentistry provides affordable, quality medical and dental services for all persons regardless of ability to pay." This is entirely false and they will proudly send you away, even with cash in hand.
    Disappointed in Lorain County.

Dr. Walsh has been a good dentist so far, but the receptionist "Deb" was SUPER condescending, as well as irritating, unwilling to listen, stubborn, and misinformed. Asked to speak with her manager, but only kept getting sent directly to someone's voicemail box. No one called back.
