“Long review alert 😂 but there are just way too many details that are important to leave out!
For a little background, I’ve had my photography business for a little over a year now, and honestly, I always felt like I was searching for something. Something just never fully clicked. I’ve bought the best of the best equipment, constantly researched, watched countless videos, and even invested in other “training programs,” but I still felt like something was missing.
I’m not exaggerating when I say the Black Box Photography mentorship has been an absolute rescue for my business — both mentally and creatively.
To start, Marianne is probably one of the most genuine people I’ve met, and that says a lot considering we’ve only worked together through a few sessions. She truly goes OUT OF HER WAY to make sure you feel comfortable, confident, and actually understand what you’re doing. She didn’t just give me some generic mentorship plan. She created a plan specifically around the things I wanted and needed to work on.
Every one-on-one Zoom session was completely tailored to me, and I learned more than I could have ever imagined. Wrapping, posing, lighting, workflow, marketing — everything was explained in a way that finally made things click for me.
And honestly, my business has completely changed because of it. But even more than that, my confidence has changed. I feel like I actually understand what I’m doing instead of constantly second-guessing myself.
During our last session, I literally teared up because Marianne has become what I would describe to my husband as my “photography friend” 😂. I can ask her ANYTHING, and she never makes me feel like I’m bothering her or asking a stupid question.
There is such a huge difference between watching someone do something in a training video and having someone sit down with YOU, look at YOUR work, answer YOUR questions, and actually walk through things with you one-on-one. That was a total game changer for me.
I can honestly say this was THE BEST investment I could have made for my business. I am so incredibly thankful I took the leap and decided to do this mentorship.
