We did a complete customer build on our SW Ohio property with Schumacher . The North Columbus office of Schumacher has very high reviews and our experience with them was positive from the start.
We followed the Schumacher process of starting with their plans and made a series of modifications. Every change we made came with a cost but everything was very transparent and we knew the impact of every decision we made. The onsite showroom offered plenty of options for all materials, colors, and finishes for us to make the house just like we wanted.
Our build was managed by Brian and I couldn’t have been happier. Every Thursday I had a text telling me the next weeks activities which helped me keep abreast of where the build was. We live 6 hours away from the site so we only were able to visit the house a couple times during the process. Brian was very communicative and answered every one of the questions I had. Any time I pointed anything out to Brian, he was already aware of it and had already taken care of it. This created significant trust in his ability to manage our build.
We did our final walk through a short four months after we broke ground. We are very happy with the results. Everything was done as we wanted and the few minor things we wanted done were easily corrected.

Amber Hernandez was excellent. She patiently walked us throuth our new home build and answered all our questions. She listened to our specific needs and made suggestions which made our ideas even better. Amber was both personable and efficient - a rare combination. It was a wonderful experience. Andy Howard is a top tier site supervisor/project manager! We recently built a custom home and the previous PM was less than ideal but even with Andy coming in the middle of a build that wasn’t his to start with, he was an answer to our prayers! He never once complained about cleaning up a mess or fixing something that wasn’t done right the first time. He was always responsive and never ignored our calls or texts. If we were discussing something on site, without even asking he would immediately send a message to whoever could remedy the situation and there was no hassle or arguing. He showed up at our house early every morning to make sure everything that was supposed to be happening was on track. He was always very professional but still approachable. All of the trades he works with also respect him and having a good working relationship- what really helps the homeowner in the end! Having a project manager like Andy can make the long and challenging process of building, esp custom, run much smoother and less stressful. We are so grateful for all the time and effort he put into finishing our home! (FYI, he is the reason I’m giving the company 5 star review on here.)

Update: so we finally got into our house. We have the moody black Windsor house with black windows. I will say we’ve bought several houses and this is our second build. Our first build we felt like it was cookie cutter and just thrown together. This build with Schumaker has been nothing but a great experience. Andy Howard was our main person of contact through the building process, and there was a few things that we were able to change and he made it smooth to be able to do so. He did a lot of our legwork and did really great with reaching out to us. He knew it was really hard for me to be able to do most of the stuff and to respond at a normal timeframe so he did reach out to my husband, and then my husband would have to wait to ask me as I work third shift, so he was very patient with us getting back with him. Our experience with Schumaker and our builder guy Andy, was absolutely phenomena. (It was great. They were all great. Got our pre approval w in hours.) when we finally get moved in, I’ll update with pictures

The Delaware office built our home & we couldn’t be happier! Heath was our construction manager and he was amazing, keeping us on schedule, great communication & resolved all issues in a timely manner with quality. We’ve built 3 homes & this was the smoothest & best quality! This is our forever home & we are so very glad we picked Schumacher to build it!

We had a great experience with Steve Price and the Schumacher team. I’m sure we aren’t the norm, but our house was built to our 100% satisfaction in under 100 days. We are still impressed with the quality and the professionalism of the Schumacher team that worked with us on the house. We were here every day throughout the process, and we never had anything other than polite and courteous contractors. I spoke to Steve on nearly a daily basis, and he always knew exactly where we were in the process, was helpful in getting changes made that we requested, answer any questions we had, and he was an advocate for us. They’re always going to be small issues and details that need addressed throughout any construction project, but if you are proactive and communicate, Schumacher is more than accommodating in making sure your project is exactly what you want. Thanks again Steve and team — we love our forever home!

Steve P. was the GC that was assigned to our home and we were lucky to have him. He was always available to answer a question and anytime I wanted an update he was quick to provide one. His attentiveness to customer service for the home builder was top notch. I appreciated how he always listened to what we had to say or request that we made, but also his honesty with us on what could and couldn't be done in different scenarios throughout the build of the home. Schumacher enabled us to build the home we wanted at a price point within budget. Once we got the building phase Steve did a great job of guiding us through site improvements and the building process all together.
