If you are unfamiliar, the thought of hospice care for a loved one can strike fear in your heart. However, the staff at Day City quickly alleviated my fears and provided the best possible care for my mom. Throughout the process, I was frequently contacted with updates on my mom's status and several times was contacted just to see how I was doing. They handled everything from securing necessary medical equipment and caring for my mom until the very end. A special shout out to Jen, Jennifer and Mia - thank you for your compassion and kind words, it meant so much to me.
I want to thank Day City for their care for my mother during her last months. In particular would like to thank Heather, Katrina, and the Chaplain (can’t remember name) and others for their support through the end of life journey. Communication was great, and they were there anytime needed should any situation arise. They were even one step ahead of me in calling in the priest for last rights. While dealing with the end of life journey for anyone is difficult, my mother’s care team helped us get through this difficult time in a thoughtful and compassionate manner.
Nurse Rose was the best, my dad loved her and she was so caring and down to earth/ personable with him, and with me as a caregiver as well. I did feel the person who came at the end was too pushy with me about using the morphine, but everything and everyone else did all they could to help my daddy live as long and as well as possible, for the 7 months he was under their care.
