Update for 2025: Payne has been my go to for the last couple years still and he has never let me down. He did my cut for our engagement photos, our wedding, every holiday, and of course all the regular trims in between.
I look forward to seeing him every time I go and it’s always a good time, better conversation, and the best cut!

Payne has been cutting my hair for a year now so I feel more than qualified to rate 5 stars, haha. Two things I really enjoy about getting my hair cut with Payne is that he will always explain (1) why he's choosing to do something and (2) how to style the cut at home. He isn't afraid to (tactfully) say when he thinks an inspo pic or idea won't quite work with my hair and face shape. I always leave looking fresh.
Been going to see Paul at Soft Skull for about a year now and I cannot say enough good things about my experience. From the first time I step foot into the shop, Paul and the crew were welcoming and friendly and that’s exactly the vibe of the entire place from start to finish. Paul always takes the time to really get a good picture of what you’re looking for and also describes how certain things work or don’t work, which is really helpful for future haircuts. All in all, I’ve always felt that sometimes my haircut is the best part of my day and Paul makes it feel like we’ve been friends for ages with how easy conversations are each time I step in.
