The primary care area is an absolute joke. I always schedule my appointment to be the first one of the day at 8am. This is so it doesn't affect my work schedule too much. Every single time I wait until almost 9am before they bring me back. I physically can hear the nursing staff laughing and joking in the back and not doing their jobs. In a normal work environment that would be unacceptable. If I were to do that I would face corrective action in my workplace. There seems to be zero accountability. At this very moment it is 8:37am. I hear a lot of people complain about the VA but all I can tell you is I have been taking my dad here for the past 10 years and they have been Outstanding! He’s worked with multiple departments: cardiology, eye surgery, urgent care, optometry, pcp, respiratory and they have all been extremely helpful and take excellent care of my father. My only complaint is parking! They needed to make the parking garage another 2 levels high.
This is a late review, but I can’t thank the team at the Columbus VA Medical Center enough. The staff were professional, compassionate, and attentive throughout my visit. Communication was clear, wait times were reasonable, and the care team showed genuine concern for my well-being. I truly appreciate the dedication and service they provide to our veterans and would recommend this facility to others seeking quality care.
