This organization is phenomenal. I left a really bad to situation with my husband and women helping women were there for me got mei. To a hotel short term a safe place until shelter opened up. I'm on wait-list now for shelter but before shelter took me as a client women helping women was there for me. I had a lot of barriers they helped me over come to be safe. They fed me and my kids they provided a ride to get to my safe spot. Thank you Amy, Kayla, Kenyatta. U ladies were my angels when we were in need. They even helped me get a bus pass for appointments and work
It took me three separate calls to get into a SA support group. The last facilitator that I spoke with during group told me not to refer to myself as a Survivor, it was very confusing and disheartening. I don't believe that this is the right support group for me. It may help others, but my situation, I believe, would require a different type of support.
There was supposed to be an advocate with me at my hearing for a domestic violence protection order and I ended up attending it alone. Hopefully this agency is useful to someone else.
