Visitors warn that once you see the abundance of Rookwood items, you'll want to redo your entire home. The tour, which lasts about an hour, gives an informative behind-the-scenes look at the pottery-making process, including the creation of iconic Cincinnati items like Zinzinnati Oktoberfest mugs and the Western Southern tennis tournament trophy. After the tour, guests can browse and purchase tiles and other Rookwood pieces in the retail store.
What a wonderful place! I was able to recieve a tour along with a candle making lesson! All the pieces are handcrafted with great detail and fine craftsmanship.
With a GORGEOUS mural on the front of the building and easily accessible by the cincinnati connector, this place really has a lot to offer from a wide variety of audiences.
My family enjoyed the tour of the Rookwood Pottery business. We saw the molds, the process they use, the variety of items they produce, and the glazes. Our tour guide was excellent.
We attended the candle workshop. It was quick but really fun. When we arrived there was no signage to direct us but the “work” area isn’t that large so we found our way. After selecting the pot we wanted, you get to mix the scent and add any other decorative items. Then they pour the wax, that’s it. About an hour later you come back and pick it up.
