Thank you Calibrated for having a staff of excellent coaches! I think I’ve done just about every class time given my chaotic work schedule & all of them are so welcoming & helpful!I pulled my back golfing before my workout last night and was fully expecting to only stretch and skip out early. I told David about my injury and was surprised I was able to complete the full workout pain free by going a tad lighter/scaling and swapping out the kettlebell swings for hip thrusts. He also recommended some other stretches that made a huge difference. My back felt so much better after that workout and I’m glad I didn’t skip out. I’ve tried many gyms throughout the years...read full review
The team at Calibrated are great. The coaches are helpful and it has a great atmosphere. The class times are very accommodating and you should be able to find a time that works for you. The on-boarding done by Arjuna is very good!
I love Crossfit for 3 reasons: 1) Community - every now and then, there's an athlete w an ugly ego but minus those ones, there is some awesome camaraderie / healthy competition / amazing cheerleaders to keep you going in every workout 2) Coaches - the reason I hate going to any mainstream gym is cuz I simply do not know what machine to start on and I'm not passionate enough about fitness to program my own workouts (like, knowing me, I might just do cardio like every day and forget about working my triceps and biceps...I'd rather leave that to the professionals, aka the coaches) 3) Schedule - I am a creature of habit, so knowing that every day at either 6:30am or 4:30pm after work I have reserved my spot in class, it actually forces me to go even/especially when I do not feel like it So, coming to my review on Calibrated CF: it met all of my 3 reasons I stated above. Not in an overwhelming way like my box back in California did, but they were definitely all met. Towards the beginning, it was a little awkward of course since I did not know anyone, but slowly the faces became familiar and the partner workouts helped break the ice a little bit. The facilities were so big, which I absolutely loved, since small spaces just make me feel claustrophobic and the fact that we are always just sweating and stinky made the air flow a little more bearable lol. The work-outs were awesome. You could always count on getting a good sweat in and I especially loved Wednesdays since you had 2 workouts you could choose from (one time, I rowed 10k meters and it took me 58ish minutes!). The actual coaches were good. Shout-out to Coach Joel who always believed in me more than I did in myself! Shout-out to Coach Dion who had eyes like a hawk and would always correct me when I did a movement wrong. Lastly, shout-out to Coach Arjuna for being so dedicated to Calibrated. And thank you to my buddy Chris for being so welcoming. Overall, 4 stars for me.
