My husband and I were traveling from New York to Dayton, OH back in November 2023 with our 11-year-old mini aussie, Cassie. About two hours into our 10-hour drive, she started vomiting, was very lethargic, and could no longer walk. We immediately registered her online at Dayton Care Center to be seen around our estimated arrival time. When we arrived about 8 hours later, they were ready for us. The women at the front desk looked at her gums and told us that because her gums were pale, they suspected internal bleeding. They immediately took her to the back room and started working on her. Dr. Brandenburg was a life saver for our 9 month Great Pyrenees! We brought her in after she suffered from two grandma seizures and was taken to our primary vet, then returned home later that evening and suffered 4 hours of cluster seizures due to the medication not working. While the online check in questionnaire was a little much, I understand that it was needed to help the vet understand what was going on.The staff there was wonderful and the vet assistants were helpful with information regarding our girl. Took our dog in for vomiting all day. We had a 10 hour wait that honestly flew by. We understood there were more severe patients that had to be seen first. The staff were very sweet and kept apologizing for the wait. This is NOT a first come first serve. This is like a human ER. Be patient. It will be your turn.
