Asian Body Massage offers an affordable, one-hour massage, often priced lower than other local establishments. The massages themselves are frequently described as good, very relaxing, and amazing, providing deep tissue work and effective relief for sore muscles. A distinctive technique involves the therapist using their knees on the client's back, which is initially intense but ultimately very effective. Some clients report pleasant experiences and plan to return.
However, experiences can be inconsistent. The setting is noted as sparse, and some clients have raised concerns about cleanliness, mentioning bad smells and uncertainty about sheet changes. The room temperature is sometimes too cold. A significant issue reported by multiple clients involves pressure for larger tips, with therapists sometimes requesting tips of 50% or more, even after a client has already given a generous amount, which can lead to uncomfortable confrontations. The massages are not considered professional or certified by some, with isolated incidents of clients feeling sore afterwards. While many find the service awesome and a good value, others are deterred by these factors.
I come here because it’s cheaper than other places, but I really need an occasional massage for stress and my general health. I don’t like to complain unless necessary, but the last time I went she asked me for more tip $30!!! That’s a 50% tip and I had offered 20% and left giving more than that! I’ve been happy the last few times, but it’s definitely not a professional massage, they aren’t certified, my husband and I complained once they tweaked both our knees and was sore for a few days and the location is a bit sparse and dirty (sheets smelled bad, not sure they change them between sessions). Why would I go here if I’m expected to tip 50%? I will be going… read full review
Review based on two massages in October 2022.
Both massages were good. The first, I think, was from the owner. It was very good with no issues. I tipped in excess of 20% ($15 for a $70 massage).
When I returned the following week, I got an employee. She gave a good massage and I wanted to reward her with a with a healthy tip. I try to be a little more generous with employees. So I gave her all the cash I had: a ten and two fives. She wanted more. I showed her my empty wallet and reminded her I gave her a tip of almost 30%. Since I had paid in advance for the massage with a credit card she ran to the back and brought back the slip I had already signed and wanted me… read full review
