I've visited Spectrum Radiology for my annual mammograms, in addition to various other diagnostic tests. The staff is so very efficient and friendly, and it is always easy to schedule an appointment quickly. The technicians have always been absolutely wonderful, making the imaging process comfortable. I have also had the absolute pleasure of meeting Dr. Jackson personally on two occasions.....words cannot begin to express what a kind and compassionate physician she is...she is most certainly a extraordinarily special health care professional!!

My only reason for not leaving 5 stars is that I was there nearly an hour and a half for two chest X-ray images. But that still not too bad. 45 minutes would be good time to me. So my Doctor (who is in the same building) sent a request over for X-rays. I checked in very easily. Woman who checked me in was very nice. It's always a relief to have a hassle-free process when you are sick. Waiting room was nice and it was big enough that no one had to sit next to a stranger. There was a large TV on to watch and magazines. Not sure what else because I pretty much live on my phone in any waiting area. When I was called back, I was taken to a little room to change into gowns from the waist up. The woman did not tell me there were lockers for my stuff so I left my clothes in there initially. Whoops! There are lockers in the SECOND waiting area where patients on deck wait. Just find one with a key in it and that's available. Take out the key and put your stuff in. I kept my phone with me to keep me entertained and no one said anything :) The second waiting room is small - only 6 chairs. But the only people in there are patients going up next. It's not the most comfortable to be sitting around men when you are in a gown with no bra on but hey we are all in the same boat. There is a TV in this room as well. The man who did my X-rays was very nice. I did not feel uncomfortable and it was over quickly. Next I went back to the small waiting room once more while a doctor looked over my images. Even though I was there an hour and a half, it went by fairly quickly. They are efficient and I imagine had there been less patients, I would have gone in faster. Great place and easy process. Although it took longer than anticipated, I was very comfortable here and would not dread going back.

I went to Dr. Jackson for a fine needle aspiration biopsy of a thyroid nodule. Whenever I'm in any sort of medical setting, my anxiety ratchets up. Going to an office so that they can stick a needle in my neck was nearly unbearable, even after some calming help from pharmaceuticals. That said, I would see Dr. Jackson whenever I need anything radiology-related in the future. I spent hardly any time in the waiting room before they called me back. At first they told my boyfriend he would have to stay in the waiting room, but when I explained how anxious I was they let him come back with me to the exam room right up until the actual procedure. He smuggled in a stuffed panda for me, and no one blinked an eye at it. Dr. Jackson was wonderful, very patient with my freaking out, and her assistant even went so far as to hold my hand during the actual procedure. The doctor explained each step of the process (after asking if I'd prefer to know or have her just do it) and while it certainly wasn't pleasant (understatement) it would have been a lot worse with someone less sympathetic. When she finished, she let me use the Spiderman band-aid I'd brought for a little moral support, and told me I could bolt for the door, which I promptly did. The procedure yielded an excellent sample and the results were back in just under three days. I'd definitely recommend Spectrum, and Dr. Jackson in particular, with no reservations.
