About Hwa-Rang Taekwondo of White Plains
Hwa-Rang Taekwondo of White Plains is a school that focuses on fitness, family, and education. Students are encouraged to reach their maximum potential and do their best both inside and outside the school. The school emphasizes core principles such as discipline, respect, patience, confidence, concentration, persistence, and determination. It has a welcoming atmosphere for students of all ages, from 3 years old to over 80 years old. The school provides a clean and well-lit training space called a Dojang. Parents and families can observe classes through store-size windows. A universal schedule ensures order and efficiency. Students begin with a 20-minute trial lesson to see if Taekwondo is a good fit. They progress through color belts, earning certificates for each achievement. As they advance, they learn various stances, strikes, kicks, blocks, and board-breaking techniques. Instructors offer special classes for those interested in becoming instructors, as well as bo staff and self-defense classes. Hwa-Rang Taekwondo boasts over 3500 stances, kicks, strikes, and blocking techniques, demonstrating the depth and breadth of the training. The school fosters a strong sense of community through various activities like Ninja Nights, tournaments, group trips to South Korea, family picnics, costume theme parties, a summer camp, and an after-school program. Grand Master Lee, Grand Master Shin, Master Park, and numerous other Masters and Instructors guide students on their Taekwondo journey.
