They refuse to help when my cat was in labor and wasn’t pushing the rest out because I’m not a client

This is the only vet I've been to where the vet listens to my concerns and explains things coherently without me having to Google 90 million things when we get home. There was no hesitation at all when I called and asked to be seen today because my dog had a really bad seizure, the worst he's ever had. There was no hesitation when I told them that I was terrified that something was horribly wrong. They got me an appointment within 2 hours, no emergency fee, just genuine kindness from all the staff I saw.

Very friendly staff and reasonably priced. Be prepared to wait for whatever appointment you have. They seem to take a second to get set up even if no one else is waiting there

I take all my pets to Watertown Animal Hospital. The Vets and techs are kind and professional. I feel they really try to know my pet. There hasn't been a problem they couldn't handle. Thank you.

Not from the area and needed an emergency visit. Abigale at the front desk was AMAZING and Dr. Kibiuk was so kind and compassionate! Thank you so very much! ~ Tim, Laura & Wally Fox 🐾

Great vet services. Always helpful for my animals. Need an emergency vet in the area. Wish the area vets could go back on rotation for this, but understand their need for days off!

My dog became unpredictably violent. I took him to the vet. No tests performed, just trazadone and a referral to training. He then viciously attacked me the day after, lunging for me and biting my hand which he held on to. He had to be put down. This is heartbreaking to me. This is a good dog that loved me and trusted me. I was told by staff basically it was my fault because I didn’t do training one day after it was suggested. My dog knew all commands and obeyed rules do the house while he was asking this. It wasn’t that at all. I know my dog, and something medical was wrong. Upon my own investigation, he had every symptom of rage syndrome. His breeder refuses to respond if others have shown the same aggression. Professionals with experience typically comment on all possibilities of something, and I didn’t get that here. I was left to figure this issue with my dog out on my own, and it was heartbreaking. I was told I should let my dog outside to sniff trees. I didn’t want to be rude in the appointment…my dog had relationships with other dogs and has a lot of exposure outside. He has been to multiple parks and outdoor areas. He had an adrenaline issue that was difficult controlling. He couldnt It calm down, at one and a half could not settle himself for sleep, he then had lip curling, freezing, and it was likely seizure related activity. I don’t think it could be fixed, but knowledge explanations of all possibilities and polite staff would have been helpful during a very difficult time. Instead there were several rude staff, defensive because I stated I just paid 150 for an appointment for the issue.
***Edit*** The owner’s response to my review contains several false statements that I need to correct for the record.
- This was not my dog’s first appointment at your clinic. I had been there previously. - The appointment was not scheduled for a rabies vaccine. It was explicitly booked as a consultation for aggression-related behavioral issues—a serious matter that was not handled with the urgency or care it required. -My dog did not live to be 1 year and 8 months old, making the claim that he was unvaccinated at that age not only incorrect, but deeply upsetting.
The way this situation was handled—delaying the behavioral appointment for several days, dismissing concerns, and then issuing a public response filled with inaccuracies—felt more focused on profit than compassion. I found the overall approach to be impersonal, transactional, and lacking the kind of empathy and quality care that pet owners and their animals deserve.
I paid for issues not handled, and navigated the problem on my own, while defensive staff tried to blame me but fell short. Now, to see these inaccuracies posted publicly is not only misleading but emotionally harmful. The experience was devastating, and unfortunately, my dog has attacked me and also been put down.
I’m sharing this so others can make informed decisions when choosing veterinary care. Ask yourself if your pet is still sick and you have paid money if you want to be blamed for it and then have the owner tell lies about the situation. Transparency, professionalism, and honest communication are essential. VCA North Country Animal hospital told me to call back and request gapapentin, which I did. They also explained to me they have an hour and a half consultation checklist process for behaivoral concerns.

I am so disappointed in Watertown Animal Hospital for their absolute lack of care for my puppy. I am 1500 miles from home, and my little cavapoo got a tick bite. I removed the tick, but there is a big lump on her, causing me concern. I was relieved to see a vet hospital on my way to visit my daughter at school! I stopped in and explained our situation. They told me it would cost me $200 just to get in the door, and the treatment would go up from there. YOU, “animal hospital” are the problem, not the solution. Being met with a hand in my face and the other palm out expecting an insane payment to even be seen, was a huge disappointment. There are vets out there who still care for animals. I will go try to find one. To be clear, I expected to pay for any services rendered. But my “greeting” was rude, dismissive, and contrary to your calling as a vet. Do better. And locals, avoid this place, and find a vet who actually cares about animals.

We have been associated with this amazing place for years now!! There are no words to express how amazing the Dr's as well as the office staff and assistants are and always have been. I have never met a more professional, compasionate and caring group of animal associates in my life. ❤🐕
