“As a patient: I’ve used the WynnER around 10 or so times for a reoccurring issue. Javaid and Avinash are the bestest doctors in the ER that I’ve experienced (by far). I appreciate that they’re both super nice and genuinely try to help. Additionally, a couple times I had Rachel who was also absolutely awesome and the only one that ordered a test I’d been asking for since my first visit. In juxtaposition, I did have a couple doctors that were awful (one was a complete tool and the other a mop), so it’s really just a healthcare box of chocolates when you go here - you never know what you’re going to get. Some are definitely smarter, more empathetic, and honestly just better, while others are noticeably burned out and/or disappointing. Everything is clean and the wait time is always good for an ER (i’ve never waited more than a couple hours). I wish they would add a water/juice/snacks area or at least vending machines (I know they’re down the hall, but one night I couldn’t walk), much bigger TVs, and maybe a little library to the waiting rooms, maybe a med spa addition to the overall hospital also, but the parking is free and covered, and it’s in an easily accessible location. I’ve had a few different rooms and they were all nice and felt new. The bathrooms are co-gendered and they’re usually clean, but I did both step and sit in someone’s pee all over the floor, toilet, and walls one time (someone was having fun). They should add disposable seat covers to the bathrooms. Lastly, admin SHOULD already be using artificial intelligence to help reduce errors and improve accuracy. I don’t have much exposure to the healthcare industry, but from this experience, there’s really noticeable opportunities to modernize processes. I run all my test results through a LLM (and so should you) every single time and often get excellent advice. Overall, only one major hospital for this area is a bit rough, but it’s a really beautiful, modern hospital. My other favorite hospital around here is always going to be Albany Med, but Wynn is very comparable and has been excellent 90% of the time for me.
As a visitor: Upstairs rooms are very nice and super spacious. Views are magnificent, especially on a sunny day. Cafeteria is clean, however the food is so incredibly terrible I wouldn’t ever eat here again by choice (my taste buds are still offended). Would be nice if they partnered with local restaurants for the food. Overall, I still think this is a excellent hospital, full of angels.”
