Unfortunately, I had an awful experience with this particular shop. I’ve had my nose pierced there once and that was fine. But I had vacationed in South Carolina and got my belly button pierced there at a reputable piercing/tattoo shop with great reviews. However, my body started to reject my belly button piercing. At the time I didn’t know that this was what my body was doing, so I decided to give Skin Deep a call and ask the piercer for advice. My god, this was the rudest encounter I’ve ever had with any body piercer “professional.”
First, I of course explained to him what was happening with me and how my piercing was becoming irritated. I told him where I had gotten my piercing done, and he said with a snarky tone, “oh, no wonder this is happening, you got your piercing done in South Carolina.” As if New York is the ONLY place that does piercings correctly.🙄 So then I asked him if maybe it’s the clothes I’m wearing that may be irritating the piercing. I told him that I wear mostly high waisted pants and then he proceeded to tell me his unwarranted opinion about my clothing choices. He goes, “I don’t get why those high waisted jeans are back in style, they look horrible anyways. You should stick to lower rise jeans.” I was so shocked he would even have the audacity to say something like that and have the nerve to call himself a professional. I wish I could’ve responded that I never asked for his opinion on fashion but I was taken aback by his ridiculous response. I couldn’t believe that this was the “advice” I was getting from a professional piercer. I then felt pressured to explain to him that I’m a curvy girl and I don’t feel comfortable wearing low rise pants bc they’re unflattering to my shape. Why did I even explain myself to him? Again, I was just shocked and caught totally off guard by his rudeness. He then told me I’m free to come in and have him take a look at my piercing. When I got off the phone, I started crying. No one who works at a tattoo shop has ever made me cry before, until Skin Deep. This man either really hates his job, or just doesn’t like people, bc his whole demeanor over the phone was just so disrespectful, arrogant and straight up rude. Clearly he’s miserable and doesn’t know how to talk to people, especially women. I felt so much like he was talking down on me and he really didn’t care about being empathetic at all. So unprofessional. I never went to the shop for him to have a look at it.
Instead, I went to Utopia in Hicksville and told their piercer about my experience with him, and she was not surprised as she’s heard so many horror stories about the people who work at Skin Deep, and she told me she’s fixed so many of their botched piercings. The piercer at Utopia was so kind, and was so genuinely caring about my body, I felt so comfortable with her as she offered me advice about my piercing. I will NEVER go back to Skin Deep and I strongly advise that you don’t either, unless you want to have an extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE experience.

Bobby who did my tattoo of my cat did an outstanding job. He was very nice he was thorough and took his time. It was worth the price for outstanding artwork highly recommended

Been here multiple times for tattoos and also along side a friend that got a piercing. All 3 times service was exceptional and professional. Prices are fair and work is good. They also took me as a walk in ( tattoos were very small ).

Some of the artist here have some of the worst egos I've ever encountered. I'm writing this review just cus I remembered about this place now that I'm looking to finish up my black out work. The utter bitter taste in my mouth from all the shit I took. Being a regular too. I've pretty much done walk ins the whole time. Which they made it clear they have issues with, but then again. If it's an issue then make it a rule. No appointment, no tat. But they know their work isn't as clean to do it. Had a ghost done with one of the guys shaky hand. Lines aren't straight. Some thicker than others. By far the one dude who was the chillest anddddd most polite was an Asian artist there that did my kaneki tat. Awesome work too. Didn't charge me crazy either. The other guys just have such nasty cocky energy to them. The one time I tried booking an appointment. I came in 15 mins late. Completely understandable if you wanna take another customer because of the tardiness. But it's another thing to yell at a customer like they're your kids. Telling them if they don't pay for booking the appointment. There's no tat. Completely unprofessional. There was also another time where one of the guys yelled at me and one of my friends for using our phones to watch videos. Because apparently we're too loud. Yet they're blasting their tvs watching stupid horror movies while tattooing. Be for real if you hate your customers just don't take em in at all. Honestly im just surprised the location is still open considering how dead it usually is. And how nasty they're to their customers. Not to mention how they've talked to other customers while I've been in the chair. Just horrible environment to be around. They talk down on you as if you don't know what you want. Just take your money somewhere where they'll actually appreciate your money/business with them. They've embarrassed me and enough people as it is. Highly recommend 'davincis' shop. It's not too far from that location. And it was honestly night n day to how I used to get treated and skin deep. I'd give it a lower rating but again. That one artist working there is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars.

I went to get a tattoo on my hands and the guy told me I couldn’t get it there cause it wasn’t gonna look good. Ask me to get it somewhere else. What kind of tattoo artist says that I went somewhere else and got it done and it looks beautiful.
