We’ve been coming here since they opened. Only place our family goes to. I get my cut/colors done here and always turns out great. My boys (7 and 9) get the best cuts here esp with Vicky. She’s so patient, detail oriented, precise and works quick so my kids love that they’re not sitting there for a long time (win win!!) They also love getting pampered with the hair wash! No other place we’ll go! Everyone is very friendly!

ALO is a local hidden gem. Vicky is meticulous professional, and does an outstanding job. Maritza provides an outstanding hair wash an and is very engaging.
all in all a terrific experience has made me a big fan.

I paid for Japanese straighten and the results were so bad, I went back so they can fix it and they blamed it on my hair and wanted more money if they were to fix it but without guarantees for the results, I ended up taking the insurance info and the license and the owner said she will call the police because I took a picture of the license and certificate of liability that hangs on the wall for customs After an whole hour trying to come to agreement and wasting my time I left with shame on my hair and they will be seeing the department of health license and BBB.

It was easy to make a reservation for next day at 1 pm and when I got there, there were a lot of people but that didn’t stop them from taking care of me and moving things around so that I could get situated and be comfortable. Once it was my turn, I got my hair washed which felt like a free massage at that point, and the best part was the hair cut itself. I came in with grown out layers, one long and others short and when I showed James the inspo pics, he gave me his honest opinions and actually told me his professional advice for ME, specifically, not just what looked good in the pic/model. Took his time explaining differences between my inspo pics and explained to me what would look best on me. All in all 10/10 experience and 100% going back.

Also, I usually don’t put any heat on my hair so I just shower, dry it, go to sleep and go to work the next day. No styling or curling of the sort, but with the way James cut my hair, it still looks good even without a blow out and looks very natural.

The lady that cut my daughter’s hair was not nice, made my daughter cry and tried to make me comb the knots in her hair. Isn’t that her job? Never going back again.

It took me a year to grow my hair to my waist. I asked vicky to cut my hair just below my bra line. I showed her three pictures of what i wanted and even showed her on my hair how much i wanted cut. The picture of myself in the blue dress is what i wanted but she cut it right below my shoulders. She had so much to work with and completely ruined my hair. Im 3 months post partum and dont know if my hair will grow back to what it was. She didnt charge me but that doesnt give me my hair back. I would not trust this place with your hair. I called the salon yesterday. The woman who answered does not speak English. I was trying to ask her something about my hair and she was talking about something else. You should really get a person that knows proper English to answer a phone call.

It’s a Korean run hair salon. Great stylists. I personally go to Halim. He listens and cuts my hair to my specifications. And I’m VERY picky with who cuts my hair. VERY. He came highly recommended by a friend and I’ve been getting my cut here ever since, over two years now. And he honors hair appointments. I used to go to a place in Flushing and if my appt was at 1pm. I would STILL hv to wait another hour and my cut would be at 2! :( The most I had to wait w Halim was 5mins. They do not overbook which is respectful of their clients’ time. Prices are reasonable and on par w/ other salons. Place is clean and rest of staff is friendly and super helpful. Highly recommended Alo.

This is a hidden gem in Syosset. I had the Korean Hippie perm in March by Stylist Harim, who did a phenomenal job.

I saw Stylist Vickie, the owner, this time with my seven-year-old daughter. I got a Japanese straightening magic perm, and my daughter got a Hippie perm. It took approximately three hours. From the initial consultation to the end, Vickie and her team did an incredible job, ensuring that everything turned out perfectly. They took their time and were very patient. It was an enjoyable experience, and we were delighted with the outcomes, service, and quality provided. The shop is kid-friendly, clean, and organized.

Overall, I highly recommend the ALO hair. I used to go all the way to Flushing to get hair done, but not anymore.
