Codella Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy, established in 2005, is a spacious and clean facility led by Professor Mike Codella, a 4th degree Black Belt under Master Renzo Gracie. The academy offers classes for adults and children, with a welcoming and supportive environment. The instructors are praised for their expertise in teaching both jujitsu skills and values of respect and leadership. The academy has instilled confidence in the kids and the coaches are fantastic, knowing each child’s name and fostering a welcoming, family-like atmosphere. They set clear expectations for the kids, encouraging them to meet the standards of the class. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. It is a great gym with a great group of guys. Codella Academy is a highly recommended training facility for individuals and families looking for a supportive environment that helps children thrive.
This review is long overdue. Professor Mike and Rita, thank you for everything. Your kindness, guidance, and dedication gave me the skills and foundation to become a successful MMA fighter — including winning a championship belt. I still think about the academy and training there often. Even though I’ve moved to New Jersey, I’ll always be grateful for what you gave me on and off the mats. Thank you again.

Our 9 year olds been attending Codella Academy for the past two years and we couldn’t be happier! They have a delicate but disciplined approach to teaching and the results have been tremendous.
The entire staff are great with children - disciplining when necessary but always with a focus on education and growth.

My son Shane is 5 years old, and he enjoys coming to Cadella Academy! The academy has instilled confidence in him and is teaching him the basics of Jiu-Jitsu. Cadella Academy also has excellent coaches who really care about the kid's.
