We have been seeing a different vet for over 10 years, but it is a long drive. During COVID, we were unable to get an emergency appointment there, but we could see Dr. Kaplan just a few minutes from home. He diagnosed the problem with out boy and mentioned some other issues our other vet had missed. We have now returned for annual shots and the biggest difference is the thorough examination my dog receives. He is a Saint Bernard (167 pounds) and can be aggressive, but he seems to actually like the staff at Smithtown Animal Hospital and that's a huge deal to us. I feel like my vets are now really looking out for my big baby and not rushing through the visit to hurry and get him back in the car. They looked at so many different aspects of his health and we are thrilled. We will be transitioning all of our dogs here during 2022!
