Animal Emergency Service is a veterinary emergency and critical care center located in Selden, Long Island. Established in 1977, it is the first and longest-running animal emergency hospital in New York state. The hospital is fully equipped with the latest digital radiology, ultrasound, and laboratory technology, and offers a State of the Art ICU with extensive patient monitoring equipment. It is staffed by dedicated veterinarians and vet technicians who work around the clock.
The hospital has received high praise from satisfied customers. One customer was impressed by the kindness and compassion shown when their oldest pet passed away. Another customer's dog, Otis, was in a critical condition, but the hospital acted quickly, performing surgery and providing regular updates, ultimately saving Otis's life. A third customer had a great experience with their cat, noting the quick and compassionate service, as well as the staff's expertise and dedication to animal care. While I am never happy to make the trip to AES, when necessary, off we go! The hospital is CLEAN and does not smell🙂The staff is efficient, but caring and clearly with the animals needs up front. I have been to other emergency hospitals, this is the one I recommend to people.
The staff at Animal Emergency Services was absolutely amazing. They took such great care of our puppy, and were considerate of the costs as well as the level of care required. They were so comforting and supportive to our boy and we are so grateful.
This place is great, and I would definitely use them again. The staff took good care of my pet and kept me updated during diagnostics.
My only complaint is the wait time. I understand that an emergency vet has unpredictable waits and pets with urgent needs must come first. However, I arrived at 2:00 p.m. as the only person in the waiting area and wasn’t seen until about 3:30. I left my pet for diagnostics and received a call around 6:30 p.m. telling me I could come back.
When I returned, I was told they would let the doctor know I was there—but four people were seen before me. One person’s pet was still having diagnostics completed, yet they were seen by the doctor… read full review
