The Atelier at Flowerfield is a warm, comfortable, and welcoming studio environment offering art classes for beginner to advanced skills. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, catering to young and mature audiences alike. Classes, including introductory workshops, are structured so students learn at their own pace and are designed for all skill levels. Instruction covers oil painting, watercolor, drawing, and botanical illustration. The classes are nicely balanced between group lessons, personal time to work on one’s project, and individual one-on-one instruction. The instructors are outstanding, professional, patient, and very knowledgeable. They provide effective explanations of materials, skills, and key concepts, offering both general and personalized instruction that is supportive and encouraging. The entire staff is very helpful. Students find the time engaging, informative, and enjoyable, leaving with the skills to continue on their own. It is a great place to learn and a highly recommended challenge for anyone wishing to learn new things.
I recently completed an introductory workshop for oil painting with Randall DiGiuseppe. The class and instructor were both outstanding. I had never painted with oils before, and Randall created the perfect environment to begin and learn with confidence. His effective explanation of materials, skills, and key concepts made the time engaging, informative, and enjoyable. The workshop has even impacted my day-to-day awareness of color and light as I consider subjects to paint. I learned exactly what I needed to continue painting on my own, and will definitely look for additional opportunities to develop my skills further. Taking watercolor and drawing classes is the best thing I have done to recover from widow blues!! The atelier has given me a challenge to continue on in life!! The instructors and staff have taught me that it is never to late to learn new things!!?
