Most plumbing shops in the capital region use what's called book time when they bid jobs. That's how you end up paying some guy $1,000 to change your toilet. Whites is one of the last shops that still does time and material and their labor rate is between 100 and $115 an hour. A lot of unlicensed plumbers are charging $150 to $200 an hour. I would highly suggest getting a second opinion from Dwight's before you have any Plumbing work done and make sure that your plumber is actually licensed In the area that you live, especially Albany. I see so many plumbing trucks that are lettered with a company name yet have passenger car license plates instead of commercial... read full review

Harvey the owner was EXTREMELY helpful!! I called him today due to a boiler problem that started Friday, I told him the situation and I explained to him that I had a guy come out yesterday to look at it and the guy messed with some things and changed a part but then didn’t wanna come back today to finish the job after he told me he needed to come back Saturday due to parts. After already paying that guy for his time and the part I was a bit upset. But Harvey told me they weren’t excepting new customers due to how much work they have already and that I because I didn’t have an account with them than I’d have to wait to be seen. I called and scheduled my furnace maintenance for 9/27/24. Andrew arrived on time and completed his work, I did mention that removing my filter was difficult at times (a narrow slot and hard to grab it -often requiring the use of needle nose plier) after he finished the work, he explained what he did, and that he had put tape tabs on my filter to make it easier to remove. That was so helpful and kind.
