So listen… a few months ago I hired this fancy carpet cleaning company. You know the type that shows up in a shiny van with a logo that looked like they spent somebody’s whole retirement savings designing it….They gave me glossy pamphlets, acted like they were auditioning for a medical device sales job, and then charged me extra for EXISTING.
They didn’t clean under my sofa.
They didn’t move anything.
And they left my carpet looking like it got politely asked to be cleaner….and my carpet said no.
Fast forward to when I swallowed my pride and called back the first woman I should’ve hired in the first place. Wendy.
This woman… oh my God.
She pulls up in a Jeep that has seen some life….but don’t you DARE call it old because I’m pretty sure it could run you over just for disrespect. She hops out, flicks a cigarette into the cupholder where, yes, I saw at least 12 others….and at that exact moment, I knew:
This was the right decision.
She didn’t come with fancy machines or rehearsed sales lines.
She came with attitude, experience, and pure confidence.
And guess what?
She absolutely DESTROYED that carpet grime like it owed her money.
She moved every piece of furniture like, actual WORK. No excuses. No upsells. No “premium clean package with optional imaginary add-ons.”
Just skill, common sense, and a product that actually WORKED.
My house now smells like fresh oranges and redemption. My carpets look brand new- like “I’m thinking about showing off and inviting people over just so they can walk on it” brand new.
Moral of the story?
Forget the corporate carpet cleaning clown car.
Hire the woman in the Jeep with the ashtray that doubles as character development.
Small business.
Low overhead.
No BS.
All results.

My granddaughter wanted to do her hair with braids. We stumbled upon this great place where they are French-speaking from Senegal in Africa. The women are very hard-working, very accommodating and help one another; we are going to come back for our hair as well

I installed 2 separate Cooper Hunter ductless systems about 3 years ago. Mice got into one of the outside units and chewed up the wiring and boards. I changed the boards but still had error codes. Zach from Heckman came out, listened to what I had done up to that point and completed the repair of the unit. One of the replacement boards required a modification that I wasn't aware of. I had called a competitor who came out and wanted to replace the entire system consisting of 2 inside units and the outside unit. Zach had this one running for $125. If you want something fixed and not just replaced, call these guys.

Kitchen Renovation: (22 October 2023) We met with Debbie Valentine, Kitchen & Bath Department and Thomas A. Smith, President at the Port Jervis, two times (before renovation), to exchange ideas before she visited our home to see if they would really work. We finally decided on LG Quartz for the counter tops & island and a stainless steel, single bowl, under-mounted sink. A new backsplash with contrasting color grout. All the templates & fabrication was done by using a high tech laser measuring, (which Debbie visited a number of other times ) to make us at ease during the process. We also had our existing base cabinets half shelves removed and installed wood dovetailed rollout shelves/under mounted full extension guides. Thomas was present while the sink was removed and followed-up on the day when the countertops and sink/faucet were installed and reconnected the dishwasher. They supplied all the materials. removed and disposed of all construction materials and cleaned up. Each of them always kept in contact with me and or my wife during the entire renovation process either in person or phone. We have already discussed having our master bathroom renovated.
