First, I’m a guy with very bad OCD (a perfectionist when it comes to hair), so having the hair style that you want is very important to me (as it is for many people). I found this place almost 5 years ago after the girl I had coming over to my home to do my hair moved 2 hrs awayI Now, for almost 5 years I have used the same person at Personal Touch EVERY time, her name is Chan, she’s very soft spoken and she does exactly as I have asked. My hair very fast growing and I’be had her do my hair while it was quite long and when my job closed and I was job hunting, I have had her do my hair much shorter and she always does a GREAT JOB!!! I found this place almost 5 years ago after the girl I had coming over to my home to do my hair moved 2 hrs awayI Now, for almost 5 years I have used the same person at Personal Touch EVERY time, her name is Chan, she's very soft spoken and she does exactly as I have asked. My hair very fast growing and I'be had her do my hair while it was quite long and when my job closed and I was job hunting, I have had her do my hair much shorter and she always does a GREAT JOB!!! I'm currently 56 yrs old and for some reason my hair has naturally changed, it has winged out, it has curled in spots not expected and other scenarios and Chan always listens to the issues I'm dealing with and how I would like it done. Then I will usually say, "you're the expert, not me, you know what I'm looking for and I'll let you do your thing" and she has never disappointed me! (I'm very picky about my hair, so hard for me to let anyone touch it) I'm so glad that I found Chan as my hair stylist! I won't go anywhere else!!! I have seen a wide range of customers, from women getting a wide range of styles done for all age groups, to young kids, to men in their retirement years. The other customers I have seen over the past 4 to 5 years always seem happy or at least content with what they had done, for me I've always have been thrilled. Also, not really needed for me, but I do hear many other stylists in Personal Touch speaking fluent Spanish if that's your language. This place is currently in the Stop & Shop Newburgh Towne Center off of Route 300 (it was formerly in Newburgh Mall up until earlier in 2024). I believe they open 6 days a week at 10am, they're open Sundays too, but I believe it's 11am (not sure if I'm correct but I believe so) As long as Chan is at this establishment, it will Always be 5 Stars in my opinion! Chan's the Best! If there's anything negative to say, if they're closed and you want to call and leave a message like, you want to make an appointment or that you'll be stopping by, it's almost impossible to leave a message. The answering machine will say, "if you would like to leave a message for anyone, to enter their phone number", so unless you know it, you can't leave a message, but that's the only negative I have.
1 day i went to my usual barber and the place was gone...it happened when the pandemic started. i hate going to new places, and i found personal touch, after trying a couple of others. What's worst is I had no work and needed to see someone for an interview. I personally credit them with helping my career. If you feel good about how you look, you can be more confident, and carry yourself better. I got that job and my current one as well. Over time my appearance changed, and the staff helped me find a new look. I would have never done that one my own. I highly recommend them if you are in the area and need to look fresh, spruce up, or spoil yourself. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THERE WHO HAS HELPED ME!
