BEST relaxing nail salon on 14th Street, lovely Owner/Manager. $16 for a manicure. Very tranquil setting (no music) on the ground floor, not far from the famous "Donut Hole" spot. I read all of the reviews for the nearby nail salons, this was one many overlooked ...I assume since its name is "Yo Yo Spa" many would think it's a massage spot ONLY. Glad I called them, this is the best In Mani/Pedi place near Chelsea/West Village and just a few blocks from the Meatpacking district... You have to meet the owner, Yo-Yo, (pronounced you you), she is a very classy woman who's created a place that's affordable and highly relaxing. Plus, the price is right! I'll be back without hesitation. A+++ THANK YOU-YOU!
Barely 24 hours after getting my powder dip and they are ALREADY cracking?? I noticed she was dipping some of my nails in powder before putting a coat on in between. So they are unevenly done. Update: hours later a second crack on my nail. Poorly applied.
I made a booking online and they accepted it ten minutes before the appointment giving me no time to reach. As I made my way they kept calling to ask me if I was coming. I reached to find the salon was packing up. The guy who did my nails was in a major hurry. He literally touched my nails and asked me to pay. I was so unsure if he was even going to do the gel paint I had asked for if I paid for it beforeThe saving grace and the three stars are for the fact that the staff was friendly and the paint is still intact. After the service I was asked to tip at which point I over tipped as they were all standing over me and left.
