Many positive reviews here are for other dentists and/or for the deceased dentist from whom they purchased New York Center for Cosmetic Dentistry. Or reviews are for minor/temporary dentistry "fixes" like cleanings and bonding on a tooth or two. My experience with Dr. Emanuel Layliev was TERRIBLE. Dr. Layliev replaced 6 crowns and 4 veneers in summer 2023. His work cannot even be considered dentistry. Only my four furthest back molars contact. Dr. Layliev left me unable to close my mouth. I can no longer bite, chew, or breathe easily through my nose. I now snore. The worst bit is that my mouth ALWAYS HURTS. Dr. Layliev knows all of this. I've now spent six figures and countless hours undergoing invasive dental procedures and being fitted for various $10K+ dental devices in an attempt to remediate NYCCD's disastrous work. I love eating, and need to have functioning teeth (this impacts my sleep, mood, everything...). I repeatedly told Dr. Layliev about my issues, and showed him the problem areas (he left permanently bleeding gashes in my inner cheeks). Instead of responding with a constructive solution or offering to work with me to modify the teeth he installed, Dr. Layliev began pushing me to do all fake bottom teeth with him and to have him do orthodontic work (at full additional cost, which was unappealing given the disaster he'd just created with my top teeth). At my final visit with him, he presented to me (with great fanfare!) an already opened bottle of mouthwash "for dry mouth." No! This is not acceptable. You're going to send me off knowing that my teeth don't function at all and that your work causes significant persistent pain?!? These are huge quality of life issues! For me, this experience has been among the worst of my life. It was not until I got a medmal attorney that NYCCD responded to me. Even then, the response was not from Dr. Layliev, it was a passive-aggressive, non-substantive response from his Office Manager, Lisa. Another thing that's maybe minor, but also seems rather dishonest to me, is that the celebrities pictured on the photo screen in their dated subterranean lobby are not these dentists' patients; they are apparently patients of the deceased dentist. Maybe that dentist was talented and created a following for NYCCD. But Dr. Layliev's crowns are created offsite and look super fake--too opaque, too white, and too large--whether that's what you want and regardless of whether it works with your face and anatomy. Dr. Layliev sends a PowerPoint (!!) to prospective patients asking if you want a "sexy, sporty, or sophisticated smile." Those are the three choices. Needless to say, I think this practice, or at least Dr. Layliev, overcharges for shoddy work in a dated, dirty-carpeted office, where Reception always seems to be loudly and aggressively trying to collect money. In my opinion, please keep looking... NYC has many good dentists.

Dr. Layliev is an absolute artist at his craft. I cannot compliment him enough. I also appreciate that he explains exactly what he is doing as he works. The staff is very kind and helpful and the office is remarkably clean and bright. You cannot go wrong here!

I’ve been getting bonding on my teeth since I was a kid and this is the only time I’ve been happy with the results. Dr. Varone was super understanding and helped come up with the best treatment plan that was within my budget. Dr. Varone is super crafty, she got everything right and checked in with me several times throughout the whole process. The noticeable difference between her and other dentists is she took her time and made sure I did not leave unhappy. I cannot thank her and her team enough.
