Stay away, very dirty hotel and they will try and charge you fees that were never on the reservation. Stay way from this hotel.

The lady at the front desk was extremely rude. She was almost racist because my English wasn’t perfect.

LOVED THE BED AND PILLOWS!! Wish I could have put on plane and brought home with me. Edgar was a JOY! Missed him on his days off. The only problem we had was in check in on Friday may 8th around 1 pm. The lady of color with huge black circle glasses was truly not welcoming and actually IF we were not a group of 6 would have gone somewhere else. She never welcomed us..AND she was snippy and told us we were asking for too much and that the rooms didn't have to be ready till 4. My neice was polite and asked if 1 of the 3 rooms were ready could we put our luggage in that one so we could go find something to eat. She said that our double rooms only had 1 bed instead of 2 and then lectured my neice about how double meant only 1 bed...we needed 2 beds in each room...then she said that is an upcharge of $30 but did not say per day or for the stay...@ this point why bother as we were already there and we were splitting the charge..we just wanted to have a great weekend in NEW York. MY friend asked that since the rooms weren't ready is there a possibility that all 3 rooms could be on same floor--OMG! SHE TOLD HER THAT SHE WAS ASKING FOR TOO MUCH!! The young lady on the other register had the look on her face that she couldn't believe she said what she said...and Edgar heard all her conversation. She needs to be RETRAINED IN CUSTOMER service . We all had been up since 3AM To get to NY and was tired but EXCITED and THIS person was our encounter checking in...just UNACCEPTABLE AND DISCOURAGING . After she fumbled around she then told us that she had 3 rooms ready and they were on floors 2..6..and 7...Why ALL THE DRAMA? One of our group walked away as she was frustrated and getting angry as to how the process was going just to check in...I was going to step in but my 30ish neice did well...we never saw her again as I had planned to tell her nicely about her lack of customer service skills and 1st impressions are crucial to repeat customers. If it wasn't for Edgar we would not consider coming back to your hotel or recommend our friends to stay there...

Brilliant hotel for exploring all the Manhattan and NYC has to offer. Just off Broadway and 1 street back from the Empire State Building. The staff were all amazing, very friendly and helpful. The room was brilliant, super comfortable and a good size. Would definitely recommend for a stay in NYC!

My wife and I stayed at The Gregorian Hotel 🏨 for 5 nights for my wife's birthday 🎂 On arrival the two ladies on reception on the 23rd April and throughout our stay were absolutely lovely 🤩 Nothing was too much trouble for them, the doorman who's name we didn't catch was really friendly and courteous throughout 🤩 Hector who looked after our luggage when we checked out was lovely as well. The Gregorian Hotel is an historic building right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, just off Herald Square with access to both downtown and uptown. We love this area and have stayed in the area many times before. The rooms are a little dated, but housekeeping were fantastic and cleaned every day, new towels and bedding daily. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Gregorian Hotel and are going back next year 🤩 I've read reviews about noise being an issue, come on, it's New York, the city that NEVER sleeps! The clue is in the title! Personally New York noise is not and has never been an issue for us! We can recommend The Gregorian Hotel as a nice place to stay 🤩

I had a room for three people; I arrived separately to the other two guests. Apparently my name wasn’t on the booking so I was made to leave my luggage at the hotel and walk around NYC for 8 hours whilst waiting for the other guests to arrive. I was cold and tired and figured I’d ask again, and they then conveniently found my name on the booking and was allowed in the room.

The room was surprisingly spacious by NYC standards. The room had two small double beds, a fridge, smart TV, a wardrobe & the bathroom comes with toiletries and a hair dryer. The beds are comfy and the heating/AC works well. However the room is tired, dirty, old and not very inviting. Our room was overlooking a wall, and lacked natural light.

The staff are super friendly - no complaints here.

My problem lies with the hotels deposit/ additional charges which has been mentioned by other guests previously. They charged us a deposit of around $570 which is a lot. Trust me; there is nothing in the room that you could damage to amount to that sum. We later learned that on top of the over priced hotel, we were charged an additional $280 for city tax, water & WiFi. Since when does a hotel charge for WiFi and water? Surely that should be calculated into the hotel room fees. Also this was not mentioned upon booking or check in. I think it’s SO WRONG. Please stay elsewhere, there’s so many nice hotels in NYC

I stayed at The Gregorian a few weeks ago for work and found it to be a pretty average experience. The hotel staff members were professional and courteous in my interactions with them! My review is mostly related to the physical environment.

The rooms, from my perspective, were a bit run down and out of date. I also had to invest in a pair of ear plugs during my stay as the noise from the street was quite loud and unpleasant.

One shift that would have made the stay more pleasant is to have both a sheer curtain and a heavy curtain so that I could have had the option to have privacy while still having sunlight (as opposed to having to draw heavy shades and block out the sun for a bit of privacy).

All travellers this place is a hoax DO NOT STAY HERE.
    1. Staff unhelpful poor service and should not be client facing specifically the lady at the front desk an absolute disaster an poor excuse for an service
    2. Rooms were dirty had to change my room. Second room had uneven floor - room 611. Lights in the bathroom did not work. The room was not cleaned after the first night
This was an extremely horrible experience. Do not take the pictures as reference as nothing is what it seems
I could not wait to leave.
I have sent a review to booking.com to not use this hotel
Don’t be fooled DO NOT USE this filthy dirty hotel with no customer service

Very disappointing experience. The hotel has a restaurant downstairs that plays extremely loud music late at night. We stayed on the second floor and the noise was so strong that it was impossible to sleep.
We were not warned about this in advance, and when we contacted reception, we were told that nothing could be done.
A hotel should provide reasonable conditions for rest at night. If you are sensitive to noise or planning an early morning, be aware that your sleep may be seriously disrupted.
