I received my first pedicure of my life so don’t have much to compare it to but I was very happy with this appointment. The atmosphere is quiet and calm and the technician did a great job on my feet even though they were in rough shape.

Most nail salons are loud, busy and overwhelming. Not Takunya. This place is a little slice of heaven here on earth. The vibe is a quiet retreat from the outside world. The natural nail care is consistent and thorough (Adriana is one of our favorite technicians). And the owner Elif is warm and thoughtful with every customer. Her leadership and values are reflected in her staff and the culture she has created. In such a big busy city, it is nice to be able to check out and relax for a little bit while engaging in some self-care. P.S. Treat yourself to the ancient care pedicure with a 15 minute foot massage. You won't regret it.

Online booking through their website was super easy. Note that they accept cash and Venmo. I came in for a men's mani/pedi and it felt unlike your typical nail salon -- in a good way. It's small, so it doesn't feel busy or crowded. The vibes are chill; no Celine Dion and Whitney Houston here. It's a very minimalist experience and the aestheticians take their time to do a really nice job. I also felt that the products they used were much nicer; no resonance of harsh chemicals. Overall, a relaxing experience that I look forward to repeating.
