About Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel
The Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel is a large hotel with a spacious lobby. Its location is very convenient, just a short walk from Times Square and Central Park, with a subway entrance directly outside. Guests praise the hotel's great bell service and accommodating staff. The rooms are comfortable but some find them small, especially if not upgraded. Some reviews note that the rooms are outdated, and a room with double beds has doubles, not queens, making it difficult for four people to sleep well. There are mixed reports on cleanliness, with some rooms having issues like roaches and mildew in the bathroom. There is no fridge or microwave in the rooms, and TV service has been described as horrible. The hotel offers amenities like a gym and a library/bar. Breakfast at The Hudson Market, however, has received negative feedback due to the quality and price, with guests suggesting exploring alternative breakfast options nearby. Additionally, the hotel is going through refurbishment, and communal areas can feel busy and claustrophobic. While the location is superb, guests have experienced long queues for check-in and at Starbucks, sometimes waiting up to 45 minutes. Despite these issues, it is considered decent value for those who don't mind the queuing.
The worst elevator system in the history of hotels. Might as well have had a single elevator with an 86 year old operator - it would have operated more efficiently than whatever the heck system they have currently.
Sometimes during ‘busy times’ we would call the elevator from our floor on the call screen and a message would appear saying ‘unable to process request’, leaving us stranded on our floor… do we then take the stairs from the 14th floor? One fellow guest accurately coined this the ‘Sheraton Prison’.
Also mass congestion at the entry to the elevator bank on the main floor creates even more confusion. Suggestion,...read full review
WOULD NOT RECOMEND, CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE I AM A TITANIUM BONVOY MEMBER AND THEY WERE ACTING LIKE THEY WERE PAYING ME TO STAY THERE. THE CAFE HAD HORRIBLE SERVICE ASWELL IT TOOK 2 HOURS TO ORDER AND RECIVE 5 WATER BOTTLES. FRONT DESK WOULD NOT GIVE ME 5 MORE MINUTES TO CHECK OUT.
The hotel is well located and has a beautiful, welcoming lobby. The rooms are decent overall, though the carpets could use an upgrade. The beds are very comfortable, and the housekeeping service was excellent throughout our stay.
The main issue we experienced during our 5-day visit—aside from the higher price point—was the elevator situation. Only 2 out of 4 elevators were operational, which resulted in long wait times when going to and from our room. In some cases, we waited up to 20 minutes. Unfortunately, this impacted the overall experience and did not quite match the price we paid.
