The total came out to around $400, and it was worth every single penny.Gerry was super informative and incredibly nice throughout the entire process. Whenever I made a mistake, he corrected me in a very constructive, patient, and calm manner, which really helped keep my nerves down. He was also incredibly accommodating—he even asked me beforehand whether I preferred to use a sedan or an SUV for my test so I could feel as comfortable as possible.If you want an instructor who actually cares, makes you feel confident, and helps you pass, ask for Gerry!

As someone who moved to New York from Ireland, learning to drive on the right side of the road was no small thing, mentally or practically. I got my theory done during COVID and then spent way too long starting and stopping lessons without really committing. When my provisional license started creeping toward expiry, I finally buckled down.
I did around 20 lessons with Gerry, mostly two or three times a week, and I'm genuinely glad I ended up with him. He's flexible, patient, and easy to work with, the kind of instructor you actually look forward to lessons with. We got into a good rhythm, and that consistency made all the difference. He understood where I was coming from as someone adjusting to driving on the opposite side of the road and never made me feel rushed or behind.
The admin team were just as impressive, professional, warm, and genuinely helpful. Whether it was answering questions or sorting out scheduling conflicts, they were always responsive and easy to deal with.
Passed my test, and I couldn't be more relieved. If you're in a similar boat, new to the country, rusty, or just nervous about getting started, I'd recommend them without hesitation.

This is a fantastic driving school. Gerry is that dude, that guy, and the man. He helped me to create good driving habits and turned me into a professional driver in just 10 lessons. The support staff are very helpful and available throughout the week. If you need a drivers license, this is the school for you!

Gerry is an exceptional instructor; calm, patient, informative, and incredibly skilled at understanding how people learn. He explains things clearly, builds confidence without pressure, and helps you develop safe driving habits that go beyond simply passing the test. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn how to drive properly and earn their license with confidence. I cannot recommend this driving school and especially my instructor Gerry highly enough. Passing my driving test felt impossible at times, but Gerry completely changed my confidence behind the wheel.
He is incredibly patient, calm, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in his students succeeding. Every lesson was structured, encouraging, and focused on building real driving skills — not just memorizing the test route. Gerry explained everything clearly, helped me correct bad habits without ever making me feel discouraged, and always knew exactly what I needed to work on.
What really stood out was how much he cared. He believed in me even when I doubted myself, and without his guidance, support, and teaching, I honestly don’t think I would have passed my driving test.
If you’re nervous about driving, lacking confidence, or just want an instructor who is professional, supportive, and excellent at what he does, ask for Gerry. Truly one of the best teachers I’ve ever had.

My experience at the Professional Driving School of the Americas, with my driving instructor Helen, was incredible. Helen was a phenomenal instructor – she pushed me in the best way possible, providing constructive criticism and thoughtful wisdom while fostering a learning environment where I felt completely comfortable. Her encouragement was invaluable, and I’ve grown so much as a driver through her teaching. Although I had only driven a few times prior to my time with Helen, after a mere 10 lessons with her as my instructor I was able to pass my road test. I am immensely grateful for her kindness, knowledge, and instruction. I could not have gotten my license without her, and I cannot recommend her enough.
