I very highly recommend seeing Jacelyn at NYC The Team for a haircut. Sitting in her chair immediately felt like visiting a close friend who you trust and will listen to exactly what you need. She is incredibly knowledgeable and talented. I’ve never received so many compliments on my hair! Thank you, Jacelyn!

I moved back to New York in 2024 and needed to find a salon to get a hair cut and color. The Team has exceeded my expectations every time. I love getting my hair colored by Priscilla and my hair cut by Jacelyn. Everyone is so kind and friendly and makes you feel 10x better walking out than you did walking in.

I’d like to start by saying that the staff were really sweet and accommodating, especially regarding my religious needs. However, I feel like I didn’t get the color I originally asked for. My stylist was Rae-Ann, and I came from TikTok after seeing her gorgeous balayages. I showed her a picture of a neutral brown balayage as inspiration.
After toning and starting the blowout, my pieces looked almost blonde with an orangey undertone. I told her I didn’t like it, and she offered to fix it. We toned again, and she said it would be deeper, which I agreed to. The second result was more chocolatey, but I still noticed orange undertones in the lighter pieces. I had specifically mentioned wanting a neutral balayage and showed multiple reference photos with neutral and chocolate brown tones, which she said were achievable.
After the second blowout, I said I liked it, but when I got home, I could still see blondish/orange undertones peeking through. As someone with an olive, medium-tan undertone, it just didn’t complement my complexion the way I had hoped, and it didn’t match any of the inspo pictures I showed.
Overall, the staff were kind, and I appreciate Rae for accommodating me and doing a second tone. However, I personally wouldn’t return, especially as a South Asian woman, because I feel the final color didn’t suit my skin tone. I feel a little upset because my hair is apart of my main appearance.

Best salon in NYC for cut & color!! I am so thoroughly impressed by Priscilla (color) & Jacelyn (cut) - they were fantastic!! They spent so much time on a consultation before we started, answering every question & talking through what would look best - and I love how everything turned out.

For color: I was coming in after a nightmare color bleaching incident a few years ago and my hair was pretty damaged - and Priscilla was AMAZING! She used gentle colors & treatments to keep my hair healthy, and she literally gave me the color of my dreams.

For cut: Jacelyn was SO GOOD at understanding my hair type, goals, and the cut that would look best on me. She did such an amazing job, and she styled my hair after with so much precision & care!

My only regret is not finding both of them sooner :)

First time here on a referral from a friend. I walked in after a bad highlight job and subsequent horribly damaged, green hair after another salon bleached it in an attempt to correct…

The salon is upscale, beautiful and welcoming. All of the staff were extremely professional, friendly and warm. My colorist Rae- excellent, very knowledgeable and completely transformed my severely damaged hair, texture and color.. My stylist Jacelyn, was so sweet and did an excellent job getting rid of the dead broken ends and styling the mess that was literally unfixable.

They use top of the line products and all of the employees were bustling around busy with clients but, from what I observed, very deeply focused on giving the best quality care.

I also recommend being realistic about what you are looking for if you have damaged hair or need correction because it is a process and I now trust the salon to give me the best hair advice.

Overall, I will be returning, yes it is pricey but more than reasonable, you get what you pay for. 1000 percent recommend. I used to say, “it’s just hair” but take it from someone who now believes, it’s really not just hair !

We’re from out of town but needed a haircut. The NYC Team was recommended by a local friend. The facility was clean, reception was friendly and the cut was fabulous. Enjoyed the experience and recommend.

Rae did such a wonderful job with my balayage! I wanted to go blonde and she exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend her if you are looking to get your hair colored!

Chloe and Priscilla were so great ! My hair had been through a bad job and they fixed it so nice- the cut and the color are great and super easy to maintain. I will definitely be going back !

I made an appointment to get my roots touched up and tone down the brassiness in my blonde hair — I even sent a photo beforehand to show my current hair They told me yes, booked my appointment.
When I arrived, they suddenly told me they only specialize in balayage and couldn’t do what I asked for, which was shocking since I’ve never heard of a salon that can’t do foils or full highlights. Instead, they recommended another salon nearby and said they had already spoken to them and scheduled me for 12 PM.
I took an Uber to get there, but before arriving I called the other salon just to confirm — and they said there had been a complete miscommunication and that they were fully booked and told the salon that.
Overall, the entire experience was extremely unorganized and unprofessional. I don’t recommend this place if you’re looking for reliable communication or professional service.

Wouldn’t recommend at all. The staff are not welcoming, and there are so many better salons in the city for nearly the same price / cheaper. The salon itself and the products they use feel very cheap, and none of the brands they use are familiar. they askes for extra charge for everything - even coloring the eyebrows. overall - lame experience.
