Finding a good stylist in New York can feel impossible, but Anvar makes you forget about that search the moment you sit in his chair. He has an incredible sense of taste and detail — the way he works feels effortless, yet the result is always flawless.

What impressed me most is how he treats every client individually. He listens, he suggests, and he creates exactly what suits you, not just a random “trendy” look. That’s what makes the experience so special.

Do not go by the reviews online. I just went and got a botched haircut from a man. I showed a picture of Bella hadid and her wispy bangs and asked for the same thing. The first cut the guy makes is halfway up my forehead. I left mid haircut I’m LIVID. If you don’t know how to do a cut why would you take a client?

I had a great experience at the salon yesterday! Anvar cut my hair and he did a wonderful job. He gave me natural, subtle layers and it was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

I really dislike leaving negative reviews, but my hair was botched so bad I wouldn't want to wish this on my worst enemy-- so PLS READ before visiting.

I had 4 short days in NYC and wanted to get my split ends trimmed. I made an appt with Nica & Sam Salon after seeing the glowing reviews. They took me in the same day with an older Russian lady named Nicole.

Nicole was stoic, inexpressive, and dismissive, even when I tried to make small talk (but that's ok I thought--not related to quality or haircuts).

I requested for toning + cut. Nicole cut my hair rather quickly and then proceeded to do a blowout (+heated curling iron) without asking me. By the time I noticed, I asked her to stop since I didn't request that, and she said that she already did half of my hair so just let her finish. It looked good but I just didn't ask for that... and usually after getting a haircut I'm used to seeing the hair straight to see how it was cut.

So she ended up charging me for the blowout that I didn't ask for-- which I ended up being OK with since it looked good, but in retrospect that was sus.

But after washing my hair and seeing the cuts without the curls, I immediately visited my hair stylist after returning to California to fix the mess she made. *These photos were taken in my California salon.* The layers are not symmetrical at all and they are so choppy and random. There are gaps in the the cuts -- it's just very poorly done.

I can't speak for other stylists since I only had experience with Nicole. But stay away from her for haircuts.

I am deeply concerned by the behavior and actions exhibited at your establishment. Such conduct is unacceptable and goes against the principles of equality and respect that every individual deserves, regardless of their background.

I went for men’s haircut and it was great experience. The price is great for the men’s haircut with a nice shampoo wash before haircut. I have done haircut with Nica, Sam and Alex in this year. All haircuts were great and staff are welcoming & nice. I would def recommend this place for men’s haircut and hairstyling.

We called the same morning, and the lady from the front desk was very helpful and booked our time. We wanted a trimmed for a new fresh look, and we loved it! Thank you!

I have been going to Nica and sam for YEARS. When I went today, they changed locations, changed the name and they are no longer working with the stylists I LOVED. I don’t know what happened there. When I came in they were rude when I enquired about the change, and then when I was trying to talk through my concerns and the process I was met with a massive dose of attitude from the new stylist. When I pushed back, Nica herself started yelling at me in the middle of the salon. I was highly uncomfortable at that point and was told- it’s up to you! It is up to me, I got up left, and booked an appointment at the salon across the street. The good thing about NYC is there are a lot of options. So sad to have lost a salon I LOVED to go to with my whole family.

Sam took me as a walk in essentially and did a great job with my cut!

Always the best service and haircut, whomever is giving me a haircut. My go-to in NY and very good value as well.
