About New China Beauty Salon
New China Salon is a long-standing hair salon in New York City's Chinatown, having served the community for over 30 years. Known for its affordable prices and consistent service, the salon caters to both men and women. Customers praise the salon's skilled stylists who pay attention to detail, especially when it comes to haircuts. A simple trim, including washing, cutting, and blow-drying, can be done for just $20 before tip. The salon also offers a luxurious shampoo experience, often compared to a deep cleaning and massage. While the salon's interior decor is described as "old-school," customers appreciate the friendly atmosphere and the owner's warm welcome. The salon is open every day from 9am to 6:30pm and accepts both cash and phone payments. One reviewer noted that the salon used to focus primarily on older clientele but now attracts a younger demographic. They also mention that while facial and eyebrow waxing services are listed on the menu, they haven't personally witnessed any being offered. The salon is staffed by experienced stylists, some of whom speak English. Ling is highlighted as a preferred stylist for her friendliness, work ethic, and ability to remember her customers. Overall, New China Salon is a dependable choice for those seeking quality hair services at reasonable prices.
Absolutely adore strolling through Chinatown in New York! The vibrant colors of the lanterns hanging overhead create a magical atmosphere as I wander through the bustling streets. The enticing aromas of sizzling stir-fry and freshly baked pastries waft through the air, tempting me to sample a little bit of everything. Exploring the shops filled with unique trinkets and traditional crafts never fails to captivate my senses. Each visit to Chinatown is a delightful adventure that leaves me eagerly anticipating the next.
This place is now permanently closed. I found that out when I went there to get a haircut from Jane AKA 娟 . I also found out that Jane and most of their other hair stylists relocated to Sunny City Beauty Salon. Thankfully her new place of employment at 7 Pell st is only a 2 minute walk away from this salon.
Amazing salon! Everyone was very kind and if you don't speak Chinese, I recommend bringing a picture of what you want. My haircut came out exactly like the picture I showed. I got a simple trim, but my stylist paid lots of attention to the details. I got my long hair washed, cut, and blow-dried all for $20 before tip (and please remember to tip well, if you can afford to!) Such a great value and I highly recommend!Services: Shampoo & conditioning
