About Moxy NYC East Village
Moxy NYC East Village is a fabulous hotel, especially for Broadway lovers. Guests should note the mandatory "Destination fee" of $30 per day, which is to be spent in their cafe or bar. The rooms are on the smaller side with limited furniture, making it a bit tight for two people. The bed is hemmed in on three sides, requiring one person to climb over the other to access the bathroom. The cafe serves delicious pastries and coffee, although it can be pricey. At night, it turns into a loud bar. The hotel staff is known for being friendly and helpful, ensuring guests feel welcome during check-in. Some guests have noted the comfort of the beds and the cozy atmosphere of the rooms. Despite the small rooms and additional fee, the hotel maintains cleanliness and offers a great vibe. It is conveniently located near the subway and in a relatively quiet neighborhood. The rooftop restaurant is also a highlight, providing delicious food and a fun dining experience.
I booked the stay through Amex Travel Portal to get the benefits for my stay. When I asked a front desk associate if I needed to pay or checkout with my Amex credit card to get the credits for hotel expenses, and the agent said no, the hotel would automatically deduct the expenses as long as I charged the dining and drinks to my room. Then, after the stay and they charged me the full amount of expenses and then when I called them again to ask about it, another agent said I have to check out with my Amex to get the credits, which is very conflicting. I would recommend to train all associates on these things to avoid confusing customers.
An absolutely beautiful place I was able to not only walk around New York City, I went to a concert at Webster Hall and shop are union sq. the staff were just so amazing! Bri at the front desk took great care of us and the room was spectacular for the price! My fiance and I will be returning next time for sure!

Pretty unprofessional, but they were extremely apologetic. The AC was also not working, so we had to move to a different room, but they wanted to have an engineer check it so that ended up happening late at night after we got back from dinner. Finally, even later at night, an alarm started going off in the room next too us, waking us up. We called down to front desk and they said it was an alarm because the shower had gotten too hot?? Never heard of that before, and maybe they meant...read full review
