Michael is an incredibly talented photographer with a great eye for detail and storytelling. The entire experience felt professional, relaxed, and enjoyable from start to finish. The photos turned out stunning — natural, creative, and beautifully edited. He made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera and captured moments perfectly. Highly recommend .michaellevyphoto for anyone looking for high-quality photography and a great overall experience!”

Michael is an outstanding artist and photographer! On set, he made me feel like an actor, not just a model or a prop. Through his thoughtful approach with storytelling and his background in casting, we were able to get amazing results which I believe no other headshot photographer could accomplish. I fully recommend Michael Levy for your next headshot session!

Working with Michael was such a marvelous experience. I've been working in the industry for a long time and have worked with countless photographers. Michael was, by far, the most meticulous, curating a shoot that met my specific goals. He made sure I was satisfied with everything we shot before I left the studio (or even, before we moved from one look to the next). His work catches the micro-expressions that define an actor.

As a side note, his makeup artist, Masa, was also outstanding. The definition of sweet and gentle, she is completely attuned to where you're at and what you're looking to accomplish. She's a lovely and talented artist.

Michael is absolutely wonderful. I've had the pleasure to work with him twice now, and the versatility that he is able to capture is so appreciated. As actors trying to show the full range of what we can do and share that with casting/marketing materials, he really is able to capture so many different moods and styles. I felt incredibly empowered with a wide range of choices of lighting and backdrops. He really becomes a creative partner. He's not just replicating the same shot for every actor who walks into his studio.
Also shoutout to his hair/makeup artists (thank you Misa).
And I really want to highlight that once you shoot with him once, you become a legacy client. Making it so much more affordable and possible to update headshots more regularly. I recommend him all the time. He really goes above and beyond for his actors.

I was a little concerned about the idea of getting new headshots in New York City for the first time and with a new photographer. I searched for several options and I can definitely say I made the right call with Michael. He is very professional and guides you through your shooting from Step 1 to finish, advising you and contributing with his ideas and inspiration. Once in the studio he makes everything feel like home. He guides you and makes sure you get what you were looking for in terms of looks. He is also incredibly warm and simply gets the best of you. It was so much fun! Special mention to make-up and hair artist Misa who is a lovely professional, very detail oriented and with a very soft and elegant taste. I can only recommend this experience.

I had a wonderful time working with Michael. His background in casting was a huge asset. His insight into that side of the business was invaluable, and it helped me understand what his vision was for our shoot. It was very clear and specific. At the same time, Michael gave me plenty of input and flowed with what I brought to the shoot. Michael was incredibly well-prepared and set me up for an excellent headshot session. I'm so pleased with how everything turned out, and would recommend him to anyone.

Michael Levy is flat out amazing! I first learned of him when my acting coach had him give a session on lighting. He broke down, in great detail, the role that lighting plays in setting a mood and creating a tone, as well as giving some very practical tips for our home self-tape setups. Then I checked out his website and saw what he was talking about; the shots reflected unique and individual moods for each actor. I signed up to get new headshots with him, and over the course of the next few weeks we exchanged several emails, designed to help me put everything together in terms of lighting, background and clothing. He told me the bright-colored, athletic, shiny acrylics I was planning to wear would not work well with the lighting and background I’d chosen. So, I followed his advice and brought clothes with me that were cotton, darker, and had a lived-in look. But there was still more: when I arrived, he gave me a thirty-minute masterclass on what casting directors are looking for when they look at headshots. And then, during the shoot, where other photographers might’ve just said “lower your chin”, Mike continuously gave me interesting, complex scenarios to think about while he flashed away. I was barely conscious of the camera as I gave him the complex types of expressions he wanted to pull out of me. The resulting headshots were fantastic. In fact, that’s exactly what my manager said—“These are FANTASTIC!” Mike Levy is THE MAN, and he will be my headshot photographer from now on.

I can’t stress enough how impressed I was with every step of this experience. From the very beginning of making my choices from what to wear, the lighting, the backgrounds, and the personality questions Michael asked me about. His method of getting to know me, what I needed and what my agents and managers wanted, is both comprehensive and introspective which all weaves into the top tier quality I expected. The final and finished product was probably one of the best if not the best headshots I have had taken from over 12 sessions I’ve had taken in my 30 years in this industry. Thank you Michael for one of the best experiences and for your brilliance.

This was the best headshot session I've ever had the pleasure to experience. Michael is a true artist bringing his presence, energy, and eye from the moment you enter the studio to the second you walk out the door. He opens up the preparation process to foster a collaborative atmosphere so that when you show up on the day, you feel empowered and READY. Can't recommend him enough! This will be the first of hopefully many more sessions to come.

Working with Michael Levy was an absolute game-changer. His passion for photography is undeniable, and he brings an infectious energy and creative spark to the entire session. From the moment you step into his stunning New York studio -equipped with top-of-the-line gear- you know you’re in the hands of a true artist who cares deeply about his craft.

What sets Michael apart is his meticulous preparation, his clear and thoughtful communication, and the way he infuses every moment with inspiration and encouragement. It’s not just about taking pictures -it’s about capturing your essence and elevating your personal brand.

I’ve done many photoshoots before, but this one was truly unforgettable. The makeup artist he works with was equally amazing -kind, attentive, and incredibly talented at enhancing my natural features while aligning with Michael’s creative vision.

If you’re serious about investing in your career, I cannot recommend Michael enough. His photos aren’t just headshots; they’re the first and most pivotal step toward transforming your professional path.
