Masa is the best stylist I have found since I moved to NYC. He is clearly talented and very easy to work with. He is extremely open to suggestions and willing to listen to what the customer wants. I will never go anywhere else in NYC for a haircut now that I have found MASA

I've been a loyal customer to Kuniya and its founder Masa for almost 10 years even before he created this salon! He is talented, thoughtful and a master of the precision cut. He makes sure you are happy with your look and that you know how to recreate it at home!He cuts my daughter's hair who is now 17 (since she had to sit on a booster seat) and has also cut/styled the hair of many of my friends. He is a GEM and his salon is a great spot!

Made a same day appointment and showed up with no plan of what I wanted to do with my curly hair that I also occasionally wear straight. Nori was excellent in asking relevant questions during the consultation, the scalp massage ??‍♀️ during the wash almost relaxed me to sleep ?, and he was meticulous with the cut and blowout. One of the few times I loved my hair immediately after the cut instead of weeks later. I also thought the price was reasonable and fair for the quality!

After studying and working in Japan he went to Australia to perfect his work on all different types of hair, expanding his work on caucasian hair, highlights and curly hair. At KUNIYAHAIR not only do we put careful thought into each hairstyle, we teach you how to care for your hair at home as well. The most important thing is to make clients happy.
