I have been a faithful client at Kim Sun Young NYC for over 10 years, and I continue to go back because the color, cuts, and service are consistently high quality. KSY is sophisticated & effortless style. I get lots of compliments on my hair.
Misun is an expert colorist; my grey coverage always looks natural and perfectly blended. For cuts on my long hair, I see either Jun or Misun. I trust their judgment and let them decide what my hair needs. All of the employees at the salon are kind. Yolanda, who handles the shampooing, is also awesome.

This is honestly the only salon worth going to. Every time I try somewhere else, I always end up coming back here. My hair actually looks better over time after the cut which is rare, since most places leave you with a cut that only looks good for the first week lol. The service is always quick and professional. You can tell they’ve been doing this for years, they just get it right every time.. Highly recommend!!

theres a reason the last review was half a year ago and one star… I shouldve checked. He told me same $75 for a haircut or a trim. Then complained he was cutting alot. Bro just put the fries in the bag

I genuinely love this place. Every time I get my hair done here, they never miss my expectations. Even though I have a very picky taste in hairstyles, they always give you the best results. I have never liked my hair from any other place but here. They offer reasonable prices and are very delicate and professional. Love this place!

I've been going to Kwon for past 10 years! If you know, you know. He is the only one who can manage to tame my mane. He's a true veteran, and keeps up with the current trends. I trust him every time. He's so good at layering, even with my previously permed, thick hair into elegant layers. He seem to sculpt them meticulously to your natural hair growth direction, and looks great even after months, instead of a fizzy mess that tends to happen when I get my hair thinned out by others. I tend to keep my hair long and in process of growing them out, and I can always trust him to keep the length, but take all the dead ends away. Each time, a trim actually feels worth the price you pay for. My husband also really love his work on him as well. Great stylist for men, too!
Tip: Kwon is not on the website for reservations, so make sure to call in to ask for him!

The perm is the biggest reason I go here it is amazing however the comment that was written about the perm being a bad choice here is very untrue. I had been there today and heard the conversation and how a customer did not have enough money and she paid $250 because she could not pay the full. As for the perm she requested it to be stronger perms and walked out with a smile on her face after suggesting she come back with her husband.. I came here to write a great review for my experience today but saw a comment that was very untrue so just wanted to tell anyone else who plans on coming here it has been my spot for years and will continue to be!
