Night and day from my first experience here which super bummed me out since I live in CA now and planned this a month in advance for my jam-packed visit to NY. My appointment was for 11am and I knew when I booked that this time was going to be semi-painful since I was both coming from Queens and on West Coast time. But they insisted this was the only time they had and that I couldn't come later. Ugh, fine. So I woke up at the equivalent of 6am my time to get there at 11am Eastern on a Saturday. Let me start off by saying the Lisa does fabulous crochet braids but I can not recommend her for haircuts! I have been transitioning to natural hair and had been wearing crochet braids and various protective styles for the last two years in preparation for my big chop. I live overseas and once I found Lisa during one of my visits to NY, I made sure I came to her at her salon whenever I was in town for my crochet braids. She has a natural knack for blending hair colors for a natural look. She does and has done an excellent, excellent, excellent job for all of my crochet braids! I normally like to blend my colors when I put hair in and not all stylist do a good job of that.... read full review
I have been to this salon a total of 4 times. Each time for Havana Twist (twice for full set and twice for touch up). First time I went, I made an appointment with Lisa. Both Lisa and Sealene were at the salon when I arrived. Sealene sat me in her chair. I thought she was getting me started because Lisa said she was going out to get lunch. However, she didn't come back until hot water was being applied to the ends. She then talked with me about how to care for the hair and style it. Two weeks later, I was not happy with the way my hair looked. The front edges looked like the twist had slipped and were frizzy and fuzzy. I contacted the salon.
