About Fashion Nail Ave A

Fashion Nail Ave A is a cozy and friendly nail salon that offers a range of nail services. Customers praise the staff for their kindness and the high quality of work, with many noting that their gel manicures last for about a month and help keep nails healthy. The salon provides gentle and pain-free manicures, and clients often enjoy relaxing massages while waiting. However, some reviews mention issues with the execution of specific techniques like chrome powder, which can be messy or not meet expectations due to lack of experience. A few customers also point out the absence of a light nail dryer, which sometimes results in smudged nails, and mention a slightly funky smell in the salon. Despite these minor drawbacks, many find the place small but charming, and appreciate the attentive service and cleanliness. Overall, Fashion Nail Ave A provides a welcoming environment with skilled staff who aim to deliver quality nails and relaxing experiences.

My wife and I got to Tompkins Square 30 minutes before the halloween dog parade, so we decided to find a place to fix her broken nail in the mean time. They quickly repaired the nail and added a French tip manicure (the technician had a very steady hand, the cleanest lines I've seen). I even got an amazing back massage while I waited. All in time for the dog parade! (Did you all see Delores and Bob the chihuahua!?) All in all, great service.

My pink gel toes look great. I didn’t get exactly what I asked for my gel manicure/chrome powder and the execution was very messy. I showed my nail tech a picture of mirror nails and she said she could do it, but the chrome powder she used was different than what I have had in the past and wanted. I think she tried her best, but she wasn’t experienced in this technique and wasn’t honest that the finished product would be different than what I wanted. I wouldn’t come here for chrome powder again.

I paid full price because I’m shy, but I wish she would’ve given me a discount on the extra $15 it was for the chrome powder.

wish I could give it 3.5 stars. the manicure didn’t hurt (like cuticle cutting usually does), and they were gentle, but it smelled a little funky. they didn’t have a light nail dryer, which made my manicure end up smudging. super disappointing. partly my bad because I should’ve left it under the air dryer longer, but I think a light dryer would’ve solved the problem and made the place seem more legit. cheap tho.
