Front desk staff is SO rude & they give out false information. I recommend the company retrain their staff or be more discerning about their hires.

I like this Equinox’s industrial, lofted weight floor with unique metal work. The lighting is warm, there’s an Earthbar downstairs, and the gym isn’t too crowded. Conversely, the locker room and entrance’s dark tiles show the gym’s age. There’s a steam room, but no sauna, and the shower temperature is inconsistent.

Was in NYC over the weekend and needed a local Equinox Gym for my workouts. The East 44th St Club was an exceptional choice. Staff was welcoming and provided me with a tour of the facility.. Equipment is state of.the art, was able.to charge mobile device on treadmill. Free weights and machines were functional and in good condition. Only constructive feedback towels were dried on too high of heat and thus course. Will be back for my next trip to NYC Thank you for the great experience

Equinox on East 44th Street delivers an unparalleled fitness experience, largely due to its outstanding team. The facility itself is immaculate, but it is the people who truly elevate this club into a five-star destination. The lobby staff sets the tone immediately. They are consistently welcoming, efficient, and always ready with a smile, making entry and exit seamless and personalized. Given that this location is right by Grand Central Terminal, it naturally gets busy during peak hours, but the staff manage the rush with impressive professionalism and warmth. In the ladies' locker room, Maria is a true gem. Her attention to detail ensures the area remains pristine, organized, and a relaxing sanctuary even when the club is full. Her warm demeanor and dedication to maintaining a premium environment contribute significantly to the overall comfort of the club. The highlight of my membership, however, is my coach, Katt Carter. Katt is not only an amazing human being but an extraordinary professional. Her coaching style is highly effective and genuinely inspiring. She goes above and beyond to help me outline my fitness goals and provides the strategic guidance and motivation needed to achieve them. Specializing in nutrition, weight loss and body toning for women, The progress I’ve made under her tutelage is a testament to her expertise and personalized approach. Between the excellent lobby team, the dedicated locker room service from Maria, and the life-changing coaching from Katt, Equinox East 44th Street truly sets the gold standard for fitness clubs.

I live in Miami. Club fraudulently signed me up for a membership in NYC. Called many times and left many messages for Manager - no one ever called back. Front desk has horrible attitude problem. AVOID Club. Avoid Equinox

This review is for the spa only- I’m in NYC visiting (I’m an equinox member in Dallas) and got awful pain that seemed like plantar fasciitis 2 days into my trip. I booked a next day massage with Tatsianna. I will say, this locations spa is not as luxurious at the highland park (Dallas) location but I think this might be the BEST massage I’ve ever gotten. I am no longer in any pain and feel so refreshed after this deep tissue massage

I toured this location and had my trial pass during what I was told would be peak hours - Monday after work. I didn’t think it was too crowded and I asked about the cancellation policy and was informed that there was no commitment period and I could cancel at any time. I chose this specific location due to its convenience for my work proximity. That is when I started my membership. I found the facilities quite nice for the first few months. Then the AC stopped working. We would receive notices that the AC wasn’t working and that we could use any other location in the meantime. That’s great and all except I chose this location for a reason and going elsewhere was not ideal.
This continued on for months upon months. I don’t think a single month went by where I could consistently use this gym. Compounded with an acceleration of members. I am a runner and on my tour I asked if there was ever an issue with accessing the treadmills. I was told they never filled up. Well about 6 months into my membership I had to wait for classes on the treadmills to be done so I could access them due to the fact that all of the non class related treadmills were busy. The rest of the floor was awful as well. Every single machine was in use. For strength equipment there is only one smith machine which I never found empty and all other machines you needed to wait for. If I had found that to be the case during my trial I would not have signed up for this gym.
Between the lack of access to the location, the overcrowdedness and the fact it closed so early on Fridays I decided it wasn’t worth the high price point. Even when they said the AC was fixed I would go to workout and with the overcrowding it was still incredibly hot and stuffy.
On to the cancelation request : It took weeks to process this cancellation and I had to really advocate for myself they were not wanting to uphold the cancellation that was verbally told to me as apparently you had to request an amendment at signing for a way out of the commitment period. This should have been told to me but wasn’t as I was told verbally that I could cancel at any time. I take accountability for that as well as I should have read the contract more carefully.
At any rate I cancelled my membership after 11 months. I know several people who go to this location and told me after i left there was an issue with the hot water and they were told again to use other gyms and the AC still hadn’t been fixed. (Not sure how that’s possible after a full year of these emails and notices)
The locker rooms are nice and the cleaners are on top of things so they have that going for them. I can’t recommend this location to anyone given my experience.

Gym is ok, equipment is dated. Bathrooms are horrible, soap dispensers don't work, not enough stalls, shortage of toilet paper...

I’ve been going back and forth with the people online FOR MONTHS trying to cancel my membership. I travel for work and have moved my main residence AWAY from the city. I have a place in NY but have spent most of my time away.
Despite submitting documents and my one year coming to a close not a single person will return my calls or emails and I am considering getting legal representation at this point.

This is by far the best and cleanest gym in NYC. I tried other gyms in the area, and I came running back here. I would like to thank Jaysan and the manager, Silvard, for going above and beyond to help me get signed up.
I had the opportunity to train with one of their personal trainers, and it was a pleasure working with Felix. He helped me realize how much more I’m capable of pushing myself. All the exercises were tailored specifically to my fitness goals.
