David Mallett New York

I travel to New York a few times a year and have visited the Paris location many times, where I’ve always had an exceptional experience. I would typically go in for the Tokyo treatment or a haircut, and the level of service was consistently outstanding. Because of that, I expected the same standard at this location, but unfortunately, it didn’t come close.

The staff felt cold and unwelcoming, and the treatment itself was nothing like what I experienced in Paris. There, you’re placed in a private room with dim lighting, creating a relaxing and elevated atmosphere. In New York, I was seated out in the open next to other clients, and the treatment lacked the same level of care and attention to detail.

I had planned to restock on my favorite hair products, but by the end of the visit, I was so disappointed that I chose not to. Overall, the experience was underwhelming and doesn’t compare to the Paris location.

I absolutely love David Mallett Salon. I've been coming here since they opened in NYC in 2018, and it's always worth the trip - even if I wish it were closer to me!
Kaylee is an incredible colorist - always kind, attentive, and truly knowledgeable about color. She just gets it every single time.
Mario at the front is welcoming, and adds the perfect touch of flair and charm to the experience.
And David Mallett himself is a legend. Warm, charming and very personable.
There's something so special about getting a haircut from him — effortless, refined, and simply beautiful work.
The entire salon has an elevated yet warm atmosphere. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I had the best experience with Jesse at David Mallett NYC! She knew exactly what my hair needed and I left with smooth, silky hair that I absolutely love. I used to go to their Paris location, but this was my first time trying the New York salon - and I was pleasantly surprised. Jesse was attentive, and truly understood my vision. I’m already looking forward to booking with her again!

Hit or miss styling / cut / dye services. Also some of the staff are very nasty considering their prices… would not recommend

Incredible stylists, highly recommend

I showed the hairstylist pictures and my hair looks nothing like those pictures. Instead, my hair is completely uneven (particularly my curtain bangs) and extremely choppy. I now need to spend more money-- on top of the $200 I spent at David Mallet-- to fix my hair. I am very dissatisfied.

Best haircut of my life and that includes a posh place in Paris. Jay's the best. Know I know where to go when in NYC

I've been going to Jay when I'm in NYC for a few years now. Book at least a week in advance but plan ahead and you'll be glad you did.
