I just had one of the best haircuts of my life, courtesy of David at Columbia Barber Shop. Even though I walked in right before closing time, when many barbers would have hurried me through in just 15 minutes, David showed real care and attention, taking his time and staying late to deliver me the perfect haircut.

Though only 25, David knows his stuff; he asked me respectful questions and offered polite expertise on how best to take care of my hair.

Whether you are a Columbia student, young professional, or just someone in need of a quality cut, I could not recommend David’s services more highly.

I had a very bad experience at this place. They charged me a different price than what is advertised on their website and even on the sign inside the store. I even called beforehand to confirm the price, so I don’t believe this was a mistake it felt intentional. On top of that, the service was poor. The person who attended me did not do a good job my haircut turned out uneven and poorly finished. There was also an uncomfortable situation during my visit: another customer came in asking for information, and the staff member made unnecessary jokes about them, which I found very unprofessional.
Overall, it was a negative experience from start to finish. I do not recommend this place.

I was honestly very shocked by my experience.
I had an appointment scheduled for 1:00 PM, but at that time the male stylist assigned to me had just started cutting another customer’s hair. Even by 1:15 PM, he was still not finished, so I decided to have my hair cut by the female stylist next to him instead.

I repeatedly asked her not to cut my front bangs, but she cut a significant portion of them immediately after starting. I find this very difficult to understand.

Additionally, the male stylist still charged me the reservation fee at checkout. I had to wait 15 minutes past my scheduled time, did not even receive service from him, and was instead treated by another stylist—so I do not understand why I should be charged this fee.

Overall, this was a very disappointing and frustrating experience. I would appreciate it if you could handle this matter fairly and responsibly.

When I first moved to NYC, everyone always told me I have to find the one barber that works for me. I am happy to say that after years of searching, David is that barber. I have gone to him multiple times and have always been more than happy with the results. I cannot recommend him enough!

I was looking for the barber that has a good skills for Asian hair. David’s haircut 100% fit to my Asian hair and I loved it. This is my second time and I will revisit later
