Dr. Coad and his team are excellent. I needed cataract surgery and ICL extraction, and the results for my right eye are fantastic.
First I want to say that the staff are really amazing. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I especially want to highlight Vace, the surgical coordinator. My insurance is generally a huge pain, and this office isn't in network for me. However, Vace went above and beyond to file a network exception and actually got the surgery approved! I was shocked given how my insurance likes to deny even in network coverage. I am generally very anxious when it comes to my vision, and she was also extremely patient and helpful through all my frequent calls and concerns.
Dr. Coad took a lot of time to explain the procedure and very deliberate with my care. My case is more complex since I also needed to extract my existing ICL lens. Also, my original prescription pre-ICL was -14+ in both eyes because of my extremely long eyeballs. As a result, my choices for cataract lenses was very limited and I feel that Dr. Coad chose the correct lens for my situation. In addition he recommended that I keep a slight bit of myopia in my dominant eye for day to day visual comfort. This was absolutely the right choice since I value intermediate/long distance acuity far more than long distance perfection. He also nailed the refraction at -.5, which from what I understand is not easy or guaranteed given how long my axis is. He has recommended that I go with mini mono vision when I correct my left eye, and again I think that is the right call.
Post-op I saw both Dr. Coad and Dr. Yoon. Dr. Yoon is also excellent and very empathetic. As I mentioned, I am anxious about my eyes after a lifetime of extreme myopia and eye issues. She never hesitated to have me come in to check on my concerns and reassure me that everything was ok.
If you need cataract surgery and especially if you also need ICL extraction, I highly recommend Dr. Coad and his office.
