I received samples of Biologique Recherche from a med spa in Mystic, CT. After receiving an “Environ” skincare facial - I only had “Biologique Recherche” brand products suggested to me for maintenance.
My experience with these products were that my skin was begging for more moisture, unsustainably dry and I found the product to be overpriced with concerning ingredients.
Propylene Glycol is a synthetic alcohol and a component used in everyday products, like anti-freeze. It’s used to retain and pull in moisture to the top layer of your skin. While I want to note, not everyone will have the same reactions I did to this ingredient so please, use your own judgement and do your own research. I want to help make people aware that for sensitive skin types these may cause various types of allergic or disruptive reactions. Is listed on toxic substances portal of CDC.
Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) a preservative preventing products from going rancid and preserve color, on the shelf. However, it can cause skin irritation and even respiratory issues. Studies do exist raising concerns over the use of this preservative on vulnerable groups like myself. It is a known endocrine disruptor as well.
Phenoxyethanol is also a well known hormone disruptor. There are studies dating back almost 20 years about its potential for neurotoxicity and is often found in their masks. Its intention is to prevent microbial growth (which on your skin, could mean bacteria; for the product, typically it just is a preservative preventing fermentation). If you have an autoimmune disorder or any endocrine related concerns, please consult with a practicing endocrinologist alongside a dermatologist (Do not rely on a practicing med spa’s APRN/MSN/RN to have this knowledge.)
European skincare lines have some of the strictest guidelines across the globe when it comes to safe standards but I’m not sure how the few products I was sent away with could be so disappointing.

Not for very sensitive skin. My face is extremely inflamed. Been using the products as recommended. I think it’s probably a very good skincare line for most - I just have extremely sensitive skin. I wish there was an in-between for “do recommend” and “don’t recommend.” Lol.
