I was able to walk in without an appointment, but will not be returning to this place. Communication wasn't good, and the hair stylist repeatedly scalded my head with the hair dryer. I have had really gentle and professional blowouts from House of Beauty down the street, and this was definitely not that. Prices are reasonable for first-time clients but not worth it.

This is my first negative review ever. I generally don’t give bad reviews because I feel bad and want to support small businesses. But I’ve been so depressed since my haircut here and want people to be aware so they could avoid my experience. Everyone has been laughing at my hair since the cut and calling it ugly. They cut my layers so uneven, choppy and way shorter than I had asked for (I had only wanted long layers). The haircut looks NOTHING like the reference picture I showed. The layers in the back are shorter than my shortest piece of curtain bangs if you wanted to know how bad it was. I think I would’ve done a better job myself even if I was blindfolded. I can’t pin it up, or do anything to make it better and will just have to suffer until my hair grows. I went back to them to get it fixed because I am stupid and too trusting of a person and they made it worse. I did a hair consultation at another salon to try and fix it and they were appalled at what had happened so clearly the problem is not that I don’t like the haircut but that the hair was not cut right.

I am not leaving this review to hate on the business but rather bring this to their attention to always check with the client before cutting hair shorter than what they want, learn how to cut layers (and always make them longer if you are not sure), and just double check with the client at every stage please.

This place has glowing reviews so I’m sure they’re not all bad and I wouldn’t advise people to never come here but just be very very clear that the stylist has understood you and be hyper vigilant on what they are doing to your hair. If you don’t get your haircut often or don’t really understand what to ask for, this salon is not for you.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was truly disappointing. My visit to Beauty Life Hair Color Studio ended with my hair completely ruined. Instead of the color I asked for, I got something totally different — my highlights were damaged, and my hair became dry and brittle.

On top of that, the staff was extremely unfriendly. No one explained what they were doing to my hair, and when I asked questions, they answered with clear irritation and no respect. I felt uncomfortable the entire time, as if I was bothering them just by being there.

This kind of attitude and poor quality of work is completely unacceptable for a place that calls itself professional. I truly regret coming here and do not recommend Beauty Life Hair Color Studio to anyone who values their hair and good customer service.

This is the best salon here in UWS. Staff is so friendly and excellent service.

Josi did an amazing job with my hair cut and blow out! She made sure I was comfortable the whole time and gave me the exact haircut I wanted. Will be back!
